Just noticed today under my carpet in the passenger footwell is wet along with the underside of the carpet, however it's not been enough to soak through. My car has been garaged in a fairly dry garage(bit of a floor leak that's all) for about a 6 months so I'm pretty stumped how it's got wet, any ideas?
Thanks

Where should I look? The two coming off the passenger side of the heater?

Yup that would be my bet! Or the matrix itself. If it were outside I would also suggest the windscreen seals.

Can you give me a rough location for these? Would be a massive hand seem to have stored my Haynes manual in a "safe" place and I can't find it haha.

If you stick your head into the passenger footwell you should see the two pipes where they enter the heater matrix.

Yep just had that problem had to replace the matrix and also had to weld two plates were the sub frame mounts are on the fire wall as the floor had split there as well all done no more wet carpet :)

Hmm alright I'll have a look, will this leak all the time or only when the heater is on?
Haha hope it's not needing welding not learned how to use my welder yet haha

You will need to keep an eye on it if it is the heater as you could overheat your engine, ie same water...

antifreeze smells and tastes sickly sweet, and your radiator level may have dropped if the heater matrix is leaking.

I say may have dropped, because the leak could be causing an airlock so you may not see the level drop

Check and re-fill with coolant. Run the engine until warm and the stat is open. Check for leaks from heater pipes & heater matrix.

Repair/replace as necessary.

Or close the window ;-)
