1960 Mk I, I have a 2-post lift and I am going to remove the motor and front subframe assembly.  I obviously can't use the subframe as a location for the front lifting arms since I am trying to remove it.  My lift has large rubber squares on it but I would not trust that on the floor anyway.  I was thinking of getting a 2x6 and going from arm to arm on the lift so the entire width of the car would be supported but that seems mickey mouse and not a good idea. Not even sure that would work, things might get in the way.  I do want to be as far forward as possible to not upset the balance point and have the car fall off too :)

So, if you don't have the front subframe where do you lift the car ?  and I am doing this by myself so disconnecting everything and lifting the body off with 2 or 3 people is not a option.
