Well choke adds fuel mostly, so it probably wants ritchening up.

Wideband Afr gauge is your freind here.

After a bit of reading around it seemed like one possible reason for my lack of idle was the fuel pressure was too high.

Ive not got a gauge on the fuel supply (a part for the list) so I had a guess at turning it down a bit and hey presto ..... things seem mych better.
It now runs without choke and sounds a bit better

Next thing to tackle is cooling it seemed to be getting hot after a short run as i knew it would as it currently has standard cooling.
Question ally rad or second rad mounted at the front?

Dont have masses to spend but want to get it right.

Completed a day trip up to Vmaxscart with Eric this weekend, to have check over and initial set up.

Stuart was ace as always and after some tinkering he got it on the Rollers and running like a Dream :)

Top Bloke!

So I've now got the Green light to MOT and start running it in :D  :D  :D

No Ideas yet Chris, but he is now MOT'd and on the road, first 100 miles done with no major issues. Ill be heading back up to Vmaxscart at 500 miles.
I can say at this point although im not giving it any revs you can feel it pull!!! And I cant wait to be able to give it some.

I've just commenced talks with Stuart for a supercharger. Straight off the bat, bloody nice guy.
Was your SC very tricky to fit? I've not seen a set of the fitting instructions as yet, would appear straight forward enough.

Hi
Yes Stuart is a top bloke, cant recommend him enough.
The Supercharger itself is easy to fit, I eneded up doing a full new engine build as I wanted to get the most from the kit.
Let me know if you have any questions not covered in this thread.

A good read so far. It's a build I'd like to do in the future. Looking forward to more updates in due course.

Since my last update I've been enjoying life on the road .....

I'm still in the running in phase so am yet to experience the full power but so far it pulls well and I've covered 400miles without any major issues, which is pleasing as its my first engine build.

Oil change at 100 miles .....

couldn't believe the state of the oil after such a short time, lots of metallic shimmer to it.

I had a fair amount of metal shimmering in my newly built 850cc engine in my mk1. 1000 miles later it's still fine.
