I'm currently trying to swap a 1989 Austin metro 1275 automatic engine into my 1991 mini city 998 automatic. Front subframe is out the mini as well as both engines. Swapped engine mounts and bell housing over today but when lowering the engine onto the subframe to fasten engine mounts I found the brass part in the enclosed pic (link) was catching in the subfeZne preventing mounts on bell housing side to line up, anyone know what it is and how I can alter it? as the 998 engine just has a bolt screwed in the that hole but the metro had this brass part screwed in with a spring in the hole making it extend further.
