That took some finding

You are an absolute lifesaver! Don't know how you managed to find it so quickly! I spent the last 2 hours looking for them! Makes me look like a right knob!

I knew I'd linked them in a Facebook messenger conversation when I bought them so I trawled through 7 months of messages

Says they are .030" not .003 .. and out of stock. Minispares should have them surely ... ok they haven't.

Do not get confused between 3 thou (0.003") and 30 thou (0.030").

If you need more that two pairs of 0.003" to give an additional 0.006" the crankshaft is seriously worn and it is necessary to get a pair of 0.030" (thirty thou) and have them machined down after very careful measuring to get the correct end float. The only time I have used a +0.030" set was when a Cooper 'S' engine had been run with no oil pressure and the thrust faces of the crank were badly scored. The re-facing of that surface meant I needed a +0.011" thrust on each side of the main. bearing so two pairs of 0.030"  thrusts had to be machined down..

Sorry for the long delay in replying to your post, as for some reason the mini forum website down for me.

So, I think what I will end up doing, is put 0.005" on one side which will bring down my overall end float to 0.004" which by your previous post is in between the required final float is between 0.002" and 0.005". Correct me if I'm wrong but I was planning on fitting the 0.005" on the flywheel side as this the end that usually tends to get worn.

Fantastic news! The end float is now 0.0035" and the main bearing running clearance is 0.002"

Thank you all very much for your fantastic help and input, much appreciated!
