Right as you probably all expected i have changed my mind yet again.

I have been talking to RsRoadKilla and i should if everything goes to plan be taking his pick up off of his hands!

Posted Image

i would it be posible to have that top level run off of rams or some thing and have it on a internal release system so that it pups up on the pull/press of a button to reveal some truly amazing layout and amazingly loud bass?

I am thinking of having the layout foing from the back of the cab down each side in a U/V shape so it goes up at the sides and slopes down? and then have amps layed out at the bottom? What kind of sound will this give because i cant really see me fitting some 12/15 inch subs in the cab anywhere.

any advice?

That rear window looks well weird...

I'm not familiar with Mini pick ups...is there a solid bulkhead below the rear screen separating the cab from the bed?

How big is the bed?

i am not sure about the bed size, and this pick up has been custom made from a clubman estate so i supose there could posibly be no partitian between the cab and the bed which would provide a better sound quality right?

Yeh looks a tad wierd but i think i might paint it zaki green the same as the car because i must agree it looks a bit odd!

Tomm

components wise would these be any good?

http://caraudiosecur...ts_id/4921.html

Right thinking components wise,

If those WCC subs are any good what kind of amp am i looking at to power 6 of them?

And the same question again... What amp do i want to power 6 JBL gto4's?

Is it worth paying that much extra for 15's?? because i have heard you can get around 130 odd DB with a single 12"

help me basser

I'd avoid CAS as much as possible, for one thing...

When WCC came out they were pretty much redbadged Orion kit (the H2 sub and 2500w RMS amp, at least). Now, they don't look quite as good. My opinion is based purely on other peoples reviews, but I would certainly choose the JBL GT4 if I was on the lookout for a decent cheap sub :w00t:

As for number of subs and size, it really depends on how big the bed is.

I know you could fit a 39.5" box between the rear side pockets in a normal Mini, and about 20" vertically from the lowest point in the rear seat to the windows. I'm not really sure what would be the best way to lay the subs out, as I've never designed a box for a pickup before!

As for how many subs you want...well, how much do you like bass? You could get 150dB from a single 12" if you were really good, but then it wouldn't play music :w00t:

6 x 15"s could draw a nice crowd at shows, and should boom for quite a while with no problems (if you're charging system is capable)

I do really like bass but the only problem i can see is how i could aford 6 15" JBL's and then i would need to find the money for a amp and thats serious money. i will see what my funds are like and get back to you!

Why don't you as a trial go for some cheaper subs... and test out various layouts etc to see what you like then when you got that layout and when you have the money buy your JBL ones?

There isn't really a lot of subs cheaper than JBL :- You could go with some £20 SPLx C**p, but that would be like throwing your money out of a moving car window

£70 for the 15" on CAD (less than CAS...)

Only thing cheap is an FLI one at £60

I'd go with the JBLs...I've seen a lot more people use them than FLIs. Plus it's hardly much of a price difference!

I've listened to a 12 JBL and a 12 FLI and out of the 2, the JBL was better.

i sold my old jbl 12 to my mate and it was just the one and it was very impresive but i cant decide between 6 12" jbl's or 6 15" FLI's, Would the 3 inch differance in size make much differance to which was better?

cant decide between

x6 12" JBL's at £50 a peice
Power Handling, RMS: 300 Watts
Power Handling, Peak: 1200 Watts
Sensitivity: 93dB

x6 15" Jbls at £70 a peice
Power Handling, RMS: 300 Watts
Power Handling, Peak: 1200 Watts
Sensitivity: 93dB

x6 15" FLI's at £60 a peice
RMS Power: 400 watts
Peak Power: 1200 watts
Sensitivity: 90db

x6 Infinity Reference 1240W
power Handling, RMS: 300 Watts
Power Handling, Peak: 1200 Watts
Sensitivity: 93dB

at the moment i am still eaning towards the 12" JBL's i take it they give as much bass as the 12"'s? Now i have read the important bits and compared them all i think Fli's are out of the question.

Don't decide on the subs until you decide how much you can spend on the amp :- I really hate seeing people start a decent install, then ruin it by totally underpowering the subs...

You can wire 6 x dual 4 ohm subs to 1.3ohm...and you'll want about 2.5-3kw RMS

Something like this would be pretty perfect:

Or maybe one of these, with nearer 2kw RMS (just enough power)
