I've been busy with the doors and tail gates, will post some pictures soon.

In the meantime, splatted some white Gravitex on the underside.

Been working on the bonnet this evening. That X shaped strengthener on the underside is only attached at the corners. One of which was quite rotten, another just about okay with some treatment I think. There was no factory paint under there, so it's quite amazing it's lasted so well really. Just checked out prices for a new bonnet - £200+ ! And probably won't fit either. I'll have to repair this one.

As promised, some pics of the rear door repair. I'm really happy with how it's turned out. There was quite a lot of hammer work after the welding!

And been working on the rotten bonnet too:

Made up my own corner repair from two pieces welded together -

Not given up, there's been lots of little jobs, some still to do. Very glad to have her off the rotisserie now.

good work on that bonnet, I gave up on mine and bought a better 2nd hand one in the end, it was all crusty but at the front end instead

that corner piece looks spot on though fair play

Started on trying to make the wood fit. I bought a second hand, but as far as I can tell unfitted set that had been pre-assembled.
There was no way on earth either side was going to fit, the gaps were awful. So I dismantled each frame and fitted each piece in turn to the car, fettling and sanding as necessary. The problem then is that the frame is also screwed together on the inside face, so I glued each piece to its neighbour on the car, with the intention of removing the frame in one piece to screw together. The wood needs sanding and finishing and protecting anyway.
The nearside was a nightmare. Don't look too closely :S

I need to repaint the roof _again_ as I messed it up the last 2 times.
And the driver's door and A panel :(

Still at it! The paintwork is just about acceptable now, still needs more polishing though.

Got the wood prepared with Danish Oil, and refitted the side windows, I've got both sides done now but only picture of the offside.

Need to get the brake and fuel lines routed, and then get the rear subframe on next. I think.

With the cost of living through the roof, I'm going to have to make some savings getting the car back on the road.
I unbound, repaired, and rebound the rear wiring harness and verified the resistance on all routes. Refitting the loom up the B pillar was a huge struggle.

I then repaired and refitted the rear lamps, and number plate board. To cheer myself up, refitted the mini script badges which I thought I'd lost a long time ago.

I've since refitted both rear windows with new rubbers. The quality of the rubbers is a bit poor, but not much I can do about that really.

Next jobs I think will be to refit the rear subframe and to get her back on 4 wheels. Which will be going away for refurb shortly.

I've made some progress but not as much as I'd hoped. Didn't quite make the 'wheels on before xmas' bit.
I have fully fitted front and rear subframes and shocks now though, along with the petrol tank and master cylinders.
I'm in the process of fitting inertia reel seatbelts now.

The wheels will be coming off again soon though, I don't have long enough studs fitted. I guessed wrong last time.
