Thanks mate if anyone has a genuine step they would be willing to take the measurements off in order to make them accurately that would be great mine have been potched with in the past

I have a genuine BL step panel if you are still looking for measurements

Because of work being busy atm and my mate wanting a project i pretty much gave this to him then after a mishap with a welder we now have a joint project as he has realised welding takes practice so thats the deal it has led to some nteresting conversations regards how and what to change but costs are halfed

So all thats silver isnt good steel is not from the outside it looked clean steel when i drilled a few holes i had little clouds of rust from the drill bit

Also the a pillar (wich i rebuilt previously) from the top of the door check bracket up to the roof as far as i could see with an endescope were full of surface rust inside only 1 option get it cut out and a new door frame

While i was away my mate had a go at welding the a pillar top to the frame by plug welding the lip and had to much power and ruined the lip i ground it down but wasnt happy at all i welded a new lip and wasnt happy with that either so its deseam the 4 corners luckily because the door frame aperature panel is being changed i could get behind to plate from the rear with a 25mm wide strip of 1.2mm steel fully welded to the door frame
I know deseaming is not to everyones taste and i dont care to be honest better a modified solid shell built from a scrap tub than another original and rotten mini sat in a scrap yard

Thanks mate as i say there are far more talented guys than me here i just have a go and its metal if you can cut it out you can put it back in but i really appreciate the comments

Today i have cut the floor out as well as the old boxing plate for the a pillar/windscreen surround
The plate behind the join where its deseamed has been seam welded to both panels from inside that baby is going nowhere
I cut out the head rail corner stiffener to get acces to the very top of the backing plate as i didnt want water/condensation getting in behind and causing rot in the future so then a new boxing plate wich i thought was a genuine panel but its very good and cheap to buy so i think well worth time and effort and ime now 110%satisfied that corner is stronger than stock

by the way can you get the header rail stiffener i took mine out as their showin on the schenatic with somerford but ive clicked on it tonight and its no longer available
