It was a minimine one that I wasted my money on. It needed the holes enlarging to fit. Very poor. That’s why I’d be interested to see the fit of the MED product.

The HS2 pair I bought were spot on...maybe a manuf default, or just poor fit for your carb type.

Who knows. I’d still be interested to hear about the MED one though.

Thanks for that, but the HS4's have a parallel where the HIF has a slight lead in. What I would like to know is if the MED stub stack takes that into account. The rather poor stub stack that I have from minimise creates a step into the carb, which isn't ideal and something that I intend to correct before I change the engine.

How is the transition from the slight bellmouth on the hif44 to the start of the stubstack?

Anyone? There seem to be plenty of people singing the praises of the MED stubstacks, but no one has actually taken much notice of what they’ve fitted?

It's smooth as far as I'm concerned, running my fingers between the stub and the throat of the carb I don't feel any sharp edges or poor transition. When I installed it with the ITG filter back plate I aligned it by feel. However I don't have a photo to satisfy your concern because it's a pain to remove or fit the ITG filter as it's tight to the bulkhead and I'm not positive I could actually get a decent photo with the bonnet on.

Got the stub stack today and popping it in for fit - gonna run open for a few miles see how she feels - filter will be here by Friday

Tight so fingers crossed on the filter and by the way - forget using a cone filter base - see pics below

Interesting, just went for a run and as follows;

Feels more torque - yep
Based on rolling road - nope
Based on seat of the pants feel - yep
Based on the science - Yep

I would agree feels slightly torquier (if that is a word)

Now, this is running open mouth and pending the install of the ITG filter

Gotta tell ya though, the car runs great and this can only be an added bonus - better be for the costs - lol -

@ $150 Canadian delivered to my door when all said and done

I use a paper gasket between the stub stack and the baseplate and cork between the baseplate and the carb.  Never noticed an issue.

Yer gonna need more room for the baseplate and filter.  Any way that you can tuck those wires back in closer to the speedo?
