hi i am having trouble with the indicators and hazard lights on my 1980 layland mini, only one side worked when i turned on the hazards or indicated, so we got a new flasher unit but it still doesn't work, so i followed the cables up along the loom an tested the indicator again, by attaching a wire to the prong on the flasher unit and touching it to a stripped section of the indicator loop, and it worked so i'm pretty sure there is no break in the cable, but the switches still don't turn on one side of the car can anyone give advice on what to do please?

I hate electrical problems. Have you cleaned all of the earth points and contacts? It might also be worth replacing the hazard switch. I went through three to sort out an issue with my hazards. Good luck and stay strong!

A 1980 Min will have separate indicator & hazard flashers, but both are used for both sides of the car.

Does the car have a centre speedo by any chance? See what happens if you pull out the bulb holder for the indicator warning lamp.
