I was going to contact the seller, but they won’t care. So I just reported that listing as fraudulent as the way they describe the shell is in my mind a fraud, “The core bodywork, which is very solid all round including new polybushed subframes, is that of a 1966 Morris Mini“.

That is written in such a way to say it’s original, but we all know it’s not, what a load of *******.

I agree. It could very well be described as fraud. Would "polybushed subframes" mean they're also poly mounted? Therefore it is the single tower bolt front subframe, which clearly puts the "core bodywork" at post 1976

I think it’s laughable when people tell you that it could well be a brand new shell and therefore legal. Very unlikely. Firstly, you can’t really re-shell a mk1 or 2 into a mk4 or above shell, most of the bits won’t fit.
All, and I mean all these so-called reshells have modern steering columns and locks, interior trim .. etc. Most still have modern switch panels and 12” wheels, some may have a centre binnacle, but that’s pretty much the only nod to the 60s there is.
You might as well put a mk1 escort into a mk2 shell.

@Johnv.
Agreed!
Although you might have more luck putting the bits from a mk2 Escort into a mk1!

The differences between the mk 2 and mk3 mini were enough to give the car a new design code (ADO15 to ADO20). By the time the nineties minis were being made, the parts in common with a mk1 could probably be listed on the back of a fag packet.
