The springy thing was to allow more air on overrun to reduce emissions,it may be causing your problem, but so could tight cable, air leaks incorrect mixture etc.Have fun,Steve..

Hi again,

When I accelerate and shift normally the revs drop in between shifts. Since I fitted the HIF44 it doesn't do that right away. When I'm at a traffic light and I touch the gaspedal, the engine revs up and then slowly drops down agian (several seconds pass) but not responsive like it used to be. Is this the fault of a weak spring? I tried 2 different grades of dash pot oil but to no avail. Maybe a sidequestion: what is the little springy disk for in the throttle disk?

Thanks,

Jens

When I pull the throttle linkage with my hand and close it rapidly, it still happens so cable is not the problem. Mixture was on the lean side so don't really understand why this would keep the revs high?

What oil is in the dash pot? I use 20/50 engine oil as its the only way mine will run well

I tried 20w50 and also a much thinner one because I thought it was damping too much but it still happens. I suspect the spring is not strong enough? That emmisions valve I can delete because I have a normal disc left in the rebuild kit.

fitted a standard blank throttle disc and it's fixed!
