Hi

I am restoring a 1981 pickup and I am struggling to find a useful picture of the bit that has rusted away in the picture below. It is the closing metalwork infront of the rear wheel arches. The metalwork is still there on the other side but doesn't really fit around the replaced wheel arch so I suspect it has been badly repaired when the wheel arch was fitted by the previous owner. Should there be a gap between it and the wheel arch?

This is the side where the metalwork is mostly there although it needs to be replaced too.

I could just box it in but I would like to make it look vaguely right so any pictures of that area would be realy helpful, I can't find any on the internet.

Thanks

Mike

Thanks for the quick reply. I had looked through that thread before and you can see that part before it was replaced. It looks like it had also been repaired at some point and welded to the edge of the wheel arch. Unfortunately there is no picture of it being replaced. Perhaps it was left off since it doesn't appear to do much.

Great thread though, I wish my skills were up to that level.

Mike.

I've just restored a Van and it's the same detail.
There is a 90 degrees angle piece/infill that fits in there.

Have a look at M Machine catalogue. It'll be in there.

Thanks again for the responses and the photo. It looks like the answer is that there is no gap between the front of the wheel arch and this infill unlike the one that is there currently. Should be easy enough to knock up a replacement.
