Tapped into drivers side rear light connector, up to C-pillar and out the rear demister opening on the trim, tuck into rear screen seal, then 3d printed bracket/tags wrapped in cloth tape and tucked up under screen seal

Here is mine: Is is some 9" long. A thin strip of single LEDs so very unobtrusive. The LEDs are very bright. I believe it works quite well! - I wish it did not look so modern... but it works.

I've been happy with the LEDs in the lower brake lights. These have also increased brightness. I feel better about being seen at night now...

* Just noticed the mess I had going. I was just finishing-up the install, so not a glamour shot!

I have an Olight set on one of my bicycles, the rear light is the size of a fun-size Mars Bar. It is as bright as the sun, runs for days of use before it wants a usb top up of charge. The reason I raise this is that it has a built in accelerometer and acts as a brake light. I know this is a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist, but I don’t want to run additional wiring from the boot up to the top of the window and am now thinking about how I could adapt one.

Personally I wouldn’t want to fit something not wired in, as if there’s an issue, it won’t be synced to the main brake lights. Also may fail the MOT (not sure of your location or vehicle age?), as it won’t light up when brake pedal is pressed.
I have fitted a third brake light to both my 1966 and my 1990, both were fiddly, just takes patience.
I’m not an expert, but running wires up from the rear lamp will pay dividends in the long run in my humble opinion.
Get stuck in, I actually quite enjoyed it!

A Hella 5239 is perfect but they would be difficult to get outside of Australia and New Zealand. Unfortunately I do suspect they have been discontinued like a lot of useful Hella products.

Check with Daniel Stern. He might still have some in stock. https://www.danielst...s/products.html

An inertia switched light would at   least not dazzle when you're waiting in traffic.

And just to finish my lighting/visibility upgrade - the rear fog lamp got fitted today.  It is a WIPAC clear indicator lens with an extra bright red P21W LED bulb to match the others.  The stainless centre bracket came from John at JB Fabrication.

Personally I want to dazzle d1ck head SUV drivers, who are so high up, and normally tailgating me, so they can’t see the regular brake lights! Ok not when stopped in traffic, but their bright LED DRLs/headlights will probably be dazzling me anyway!

I fished a strip of acrylic mirror out of the bin, just this morning, with the same idea in mind. Uncanny coincidence  :P

This looks great.
I would use that set-up for my Fog light but I do love my twin pipe center exhaust... If it wasn't for that, I'd likely have a trailer hitch anyway.

I always wanted to imbed a brake light in the chrome strip around the rear window.

As you may or may not know, the chrome strip is not just for decoration, it holds the rubber which holds the rear window in. hence it’s a part that needs strength to hold in the rubber seal, so you wouldn’t be able to, the glass may vibrate out over time!

I'm well aware of that lol. Doesn't mean it's not possible, just hasn't been done yet

Fairs dos!

Yes you never know, someone might invent a solar and wireless one stop shop press in rear screen chrome trim replacement brake light, stranger things have happened!

Do you have any pix of the brackets you made? I’m trying to do something similar. Want something as non intrusive as I can so you not spoil the cars look.
