Hi all,

I'm currently in the process of getting my 850 back on the road. Last week, after replacing the wheel bearings, I went to put everything back together — but now the brake drum simply won't go over the wheel cylinder and shoes.

The adjusters are wound all the way back to their minimum, but when I try to fit the drum, it won't go over the brake assembly. Oddly, this is only happening on one side. The backplate, wheel cylinder, and shoes are all from the Minisport MS2693 front drum brake assembly kit (https://www.minispor...-1959-1984.html), and I'm using the standard drums.

Has anyone come across this problem before, or have I missed something obvious? Could there be a manufacturing tolerance issue with the MS2693 kit? Interestingly, the MS2693 also seems to no longer include the spring that sits between the wheel cylinder and the shoe.

Many thanks in advance and best regards,
Bernhard

As I've got issues with uploading images here, I've already asked in the German Forum and there is a visual representation of the problem: https://www.mini-for...919#post1154919

Not having experience of front drums, I can only observe that the arrowed return spring doesn't look like it's properly located, to me.
