1975 Mini 1000. Imported from New Zeland to the US.

I just imported my 1975 Mini 1000 from Portugal.  I bought it 16 years ago while I was living there.   The restoration begins now.

I have a 1985 Mini Mayfair which is having a complete rebuild (been off the road for 2 years but hoping will be finished this year).

Putting in a 1300 engine (don't ask me any technical questions because I don't know the answers :)) upgraded brakes and full cage. I have removed the back seat to be able to make a comfy travelling area for my two dogs. Putting flip front on it to make access to engine a tad easier and will be painting it a 1960 baby blue which I fell i love with at a show.

At the moment she is still upside down on the spit finishing off he underside but is starting to look like a mini again after being nothing but parts lying around the garage for so long :)

Automatic, standard engine, standard interior (as I like it). Only mods are wheels and a Maniflow twin box centre exit exhaust, but only from the cat. 

 

 

What size wheels are those?

I was hoping to drive my 1972 clubman, but had a bit of a set back!

 

Due to go into a classic car section at a steam rally a week ago but dismally failed the mot.

Three pages worth of problems, many classed as dangerous despite a huge amount of work, time and money being spent on it. 

Now it has been stripped back down to the tub to start again...  (Anyone interested can follow link below for further photos)

Hi, I'm new to this forum & I must confess, forums in general! I've always loved classic minis & in particular, I'm a big fan of Mini Specials or varients such as GTM Coupe, Unipower GT, Mini Marcos/Jem etc. I previously had a GTm Coupe & now own a MCCoy Coupe 1275 mini engine & running gear :)

Just bought myself a 1987 Austin city e 1000 needs a little sill work but fell in love with it on the test drive. next is the 2 hour drive back to Hull on Wednesday :)

My 1380 race spec suspension fully rebuilt , steering rebuilt , full engine and straight cut gearbox rebuilt

Track car / weekend when ever I can afford to run it car ;)







Not done yet just got engine started this weekend

My 1969 Morris Mini,1293 engine, straight cut gears, stage rally prepared.

 

I used this car between 2000 and 2005 and the finished rebuilding it last year as I missed how much fun you can have in a Mini.

 

Here it is in action on last years Showground Stages Rally

 

 

Hopefully will be able to compete on a few road rallies later this year.
