Yes - fair enough...you might not be a bad person or the perfect driver..
Can you not see though that comments like that are going to be hurtful to the people involved?!

This is the last you hear from me in this topic, i have said all i have to say, this can and most probibly will carry on as a slating match now. It shouldn't, please respect the opinions of others, as they are entitled to their own opinion as are you.
Pick up the pieces, put them back together, learn and move on to the next life event.
Does any one know the Meaning Of Life?

You say you were in a same situation too before- well how did you get through it without everyones kind words, sympathy and support about the situation. Would people just hear you have a crash and say 'ah well, learn from your mistakes, i have no sympathy'. No. Everyone on TMF have been so nice to all of us, and really helped us all see the good side of all this, knowing that so many people care, and this topic is already pages and pages long. Its lovely to know so many people, that i havent even met, are willing to help me and have been so kind.
Agreed, the accident could have been a lot worse. ''We are all here to take responsibility for our actions'' Well what do you think we are all bloody doing?!
No one is a perfect driver, everyone has crashes and that crash couldnt have been avoided in my opinion, because i tried my best to take control of it but it was too late. Fair enough if you think you could have avoided it but hey, i didnt, and it cost me my car, but i WAS NOT DRIVING UNSAFELY. I am a very safe driver, and will continue to be when im back on the road.
Anyway, lets ignore this because id rather forget the WHOLE situation, as i was trying to do...
Thanks
Raz

There's no need for a slating match and no, it does not mean that you can't say your peace. But as you rightly pointed out, it could have been fatal - so in this respect the people are bound to be shaken and to be honest, I don't think comments like that will help the situation one bit.
It's nothing personal, I've never spoken to you before (hello!)...
And yes, you should accept the good with the bad, there's no denying it - however the remarks can be hurtful.
And that's the last from me.

Probably the best rule with trolls and to55ers is ignore them
This of course was a general statement about life and not a comment about one specific person so therefore should not be deleted as a personal attack

In my years as a firefighter, i have NEVER come across a road traffic incident that couldn't have been avoided. I make no comment about this incident directly as I WAS NOT THERE and do not know the full facts of what happened.
I have crashed cars and been in cars driven by others that have crashed and i know of the emotions involved by all parties.
Even the most experienced drivers will tell you of an instance where they can say with hindsight "I should have been going slower/ stopped at the white line/taken a different line into that corner" this hindsight is what makes the experienced and more equipt to deal with a similar situatuion next time round.
That said, if we drove around at 5mph, there would be very few road incidents, but there would also be no fun (or sense) in driving our cars.
If in this case you had been driving at 5 mph, you may have avoided running out of road... but may have been hit from behind by vehicles not expecting slow moving traffic..... These "ifs and buts" are of course pointless after the the incident has occured when the priority becomes life and welfare.
Having been in a similar situation, you all have my sympathy and i hope you are all back on the road soon!!!!

And yes, this is a public forum, and yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but sometimes those people should keep those opinions to themselves. Remember, you don't HAVE to reply!!

Again this is very similar to another topic on another forum
I DO feel your pain, but i have no sympathy.
And whats that supposed to mean?!
Actually scrap that. To be honest I don’t care what you think. I would NEVER put anyone in danger, and I AM a bloody safe driver, if that is what you are intending to say. I haven’t been driving long, but I always drive safely, ask ANYONE who has been passenger with me in my car. Fair enough I’m not an experienced driver but crashing all comes with experience- in a weird way it is a good thing I crashed, as it shows you how easy it is. But do you think I crashed on purpose? Do you really think I would put people in danger like that?! I have only met Ollie and Neil a few times, and have known Sam all my life. They are lovely people and I would never do anything to put any of them in danger, and obviously they wouldn’t either. I’ve never driven in conditions like that, and it was so scary, I said to Ollie before the crash I am so scared I cant see anything, and obviously if I’m that nervous I’m not going to drive horrendously am I!? As scruitineer and many other people have said, it could have happened to anyone!
I F***ing LOVED my car and I honestly thought I would have it for years to come. When we crashed I was devastated. The crash has really scared me and put me off driving, as well as written off my love of a car.
Think what you want to think, thanks to everyone else that actually cares

Rachel is the safest driver i know and i have been in alot of idiots car, i know for a fact shes a way better driver than me! she would never put her passengers into danger shes always very careful, and thinks its stupid that people go way over the speed limits thats why we don't. Were always saying when we see people driving fast ' look at me im well hard' when there clearly not! Rachel was worried about driving up there anyway as it is a very dangerous bit of road even my mum said that and she drives it nearly everyday. So do you really think she would be driving dangerously if she were nervous?NO! Especially because she had Ollie in the car who she hardly knew im sure that made her drive even more carefully. Plus all THREE cars went over not just her and its known of there faults!!! Accidents happen and we learn from them, rachel was just following them and in fog all you can see is there lights so to her it probably looked like she was following them on the road, and for all of them when they realised what was going on they tryed to do something about it but couldn't. Rachel feels bad for what happend already she doesn't need an idiot like you putting her down, like ive told her it wasn't her fault, it was none of theres things happen!!!

Not being funny but why does that mean that i cannot say my peace. This, as you have already pointed out, is a public forum, and when posting on public forums you should accept the good with the bad.

Rubbish!

Edit to remove my comments, as in hindsight they were not productive and off topic.

She has gone now

But the good thing its that she was on one of those really cool big trucks that have 2 levels, with other cars, so she has made some friends

May she have a good holiday :'(
