Okay, just went out and instead of the starter motor turning, the car's clicking.
Some fuel in there, not a lot though.
Went through the Haynes manual and that didn't help. Didn't bother trying to jump start her again though.
Any ideas?

Can I not just put new fuel in with it...?

If there is not much in there it probably won't matter if you put fresh in, it might be a little bit iffy but with use it should be OK.

Well when I put petrol in her about 4 - 5 months ago, I only put £10 in. She's definately not empty but there's not £10's worth in there now. Maybe I will go and get some more...Ooooh...I dunno. I need someone who knows exactly what they're talking about to come and look at her... for free! =]

where abouts are you?

the clicking is the relay connecting the starter motor. you get this noise just before the battery is totally dead. The best thing you can do now is recharge the battery.

Brakes often sieze when left. they will free up with some force.
Where is the rust? just out of interest

Yeah, the wheels have seized up before now so I know that one. Just hard getting her started in the first place.

I'd love to be able to charge the battery but my Dad's taken the car battery charger and I don't talk to him so can't get it back...

I live in Herts and the rust is mainly in the passenger footwell. Few patches elsewhere.

fill the cells of the battery with distilled water , find a nice person with a charger , charge it , put some fresh pretrol in , take you spark plugs out give them a clean and try starting it if it does not start ,

get a little bit of petrol, take the air filter off and poor it down the inlet then start it it should fire up , it then should start running it always works for me , but i normaly get a big flame come out of the carb lol
