From MiniSpares, long bolts into the back plate, short into the flywheel:

Nah not really I deserve it :) Was a stupid, stupid mistake :(

Nah I certainly can't, I would of completed the engine today if it wasn't for this bolt :) Ahh well, the joy of firing it up will be more than welcome :P
Just spoke to Simon quickly, and he's kindy going to try and get a bolt to me tonight ready for tomorrow....

But with a bit of luck, my twin HS4's should be here sometime this week :)

If it was a bolt being titghtened into the back plate, check that the hole is threaded all the way through - I had a flywheel set up form Morspeed and the holes weren't fully threaded ended up with a snapped bolt and paying out to get the remains drilled out and helicoiled accurately - needless to say I ran a tap through the other two holes!

You got it!

The thread in the back plate are threaded all the way down, I just torqued it too high. Like I said, stupid mistake, should of taken my time a bit more.
Never mind, off comes the flywheel, and I'll take the back plate to work and extract the broken bolt.

Torqued it too high? It only supposed to be 16-18lbft, you must've fair loaded it to snap it!

In all honesty, after building the 1380, and experiancing the unrealiablity of a powerful A-Series, I shall NOT do a A-Series build again!

My engine has cost £2500 (give or take a couple pound) I could of done a VERY sucessful hybrid conversion for that, and still have change.

If/once the 1380 gives up the ghost, I shall not be replacing it with a A-Series.

Is the engine running then? How is it unreliable?
