MWHAHAHAHAAAAAA

i though that was amusing Miniboo lol

Could you explain to me, why you found that amusing?

I wanted a K1100 head for the street fighter, and I arranged to get the bits I need from Speicalist Compoants.
Just because I've never done a "non-A-Series" conversion of any sort, why do you think I can't do one?

For all that wants to know, I've already started the next project... a Hybrid Hornet :-

Is the engine running then? How is it unreliable?

Not yet it isn't.
Mine is only reliable up to around 35-50k miles, however, a Vtec, with double the power, but quadruple the reliablity.

But how many "big power" A-Series engine last a long time?

How do you know its only reliable to that?

Every engine is different, built different, driven different, serviced different.

One engine could do 10k miles and another 200k miles.

Depends what you define as reliable. Dan Websters lasted quite a long time, although he rebuilds it before it has a chance to break! I know a couple of BRs race engines have last 2 plus seasons, which is deemd to be reliable.

I would agree with the statement that an A series, on average, is not as reliable as a Vtec though.

Just for the fact of it being a 1380, with around 90bhp@wheels... With a gearbox thats designed for around 50bhp...

Although I have payed to make this engine as relieable as possable, its still won't be as good as a proper Jap motor...

an a series can never be as reliable as a vtec the technology is more advanced, but you can still do so much with an a series, what will you be able to do with a v tech when its as old as the a sreies is now.

there is a massive tuning scene for the vtec but the point is you shouldnt need to tune it anymore as it'l already be pushing out massive power

i love the a series noise but the vtec scream is AWESOME

Yeh the street fighter was going to be a 16v 1399, but unfortunately, people in my area put a stop to that

I am bored of the A-Series noise, as soon as it doesn't make its normal noise - it breaks... Whereas Vtec, 'spesh when its in the 6000rpm+ powerband... The scream - just heaven

The only thing I'd upgrade my engine to is a Vtec or VVC....

Can't beat the noise of straight cut gears and a Weber, and try sticking those bits on a Vtec or VVC!
