Sounds like you've spacered the clutch too much. The drivestraps need to be perfectly level. Having said that, I found that when it was on the work bench, and I got mine level, I then had dis-engagement issues when it was on the car and all torqued up. I added one more <1mm washer and it was ok.

I think I know what it is. I used a older orange diaphram this time round, to try it... so I am going to replace it with my new diaphram, and see how it goes.

He still kind of owns voo, well doesnt own her, but shes there for him to use whenever and tinker with.. so although hes trying.. he will never get away from the mini scene

That takes me back,I bought my second van for £70, ex Works Department,Liverpool Corpy,
Painted a wolfs head on one back door and a sticky-back chequer design (Blue Peter was all the rage then)
Best mini I ever had,went all over the country in it + NEVER had any problems.Sorry I PXd it to get a Triumph T110.
