Just got my insurance changed over

20Yrs old, No NCB, First Years Insurance.

1980 Clubman Estate Turbo

Bucket Seats (Insured as £300)

Wheels (Insured as £150)

Arches (Insured as £20 - because theyre sheet, lol)

Im insured for £878.11, and i get my 1years NCB in 15 days.

Miniworld are pretty good, thats a bit more than i was expecting to pay, but with everything declared and covered im quite happy with my result.

thats not a bad quote really, okay yes it is a lot of money but all insurance is expensive now if you're under 21. My girlfriends brother pays £1400 to insure a k reg 1.1 fiesta and he's 21!
This was after ringing about 15 different insurers!
I always find hic quite good with modified minis.

i rang adrian flux to see if i could afford the insurance to go ahead with my turbo project and i was pleasantly surprised, alloys buckets etc, 998 turbo, all claimed, one accident and i got quoted £1100 but by the time i finish my car i'll have a years no claims so it will be even less
i am 19 by the way,
DAN :P

i was planning a front end rebuild and whilst that was being completed a turbo engine upgrade but as i will be 19 nearly 20 when its complete i was worried about cost of insurance. might just have to start the planning and saving for it all.

Hi everyone

I used to be with Norwich Union for my insurance for a bog standard '89 Mayfair auto they wanted £400 fully comp. Now that I have cut it about a bit I went to Adrian Flux and they quoted £170 with agreed value of £1000 included.

I went with HIC the other year when my 1310 was still in one piece, I had agreed value option on that as well, I sent the photo's to the wrong department and instead of forwarding them to the correct department they stuck a stamp on it and sent it back to me....... I didnt try them this time

what cover? fully comp or third party? im planning on a rebuild, and wanted to increase performance, but have no no claims, am 19 and at the moment 1.3i cooper costs alot to insure! perhaps il go for a 1380 carb.

That is blooming cheap!! With that agreed value it would have to be fully comp! I pay over 1.5k for my 1425. i won't say what the agreed value is though.
