Tesco is very good I think. I got insured on a 2.3 longwheel base Landy for £750 by them. Trust me, trying to insure a landrover at 19 isnt easy and I had quotes as high 2.5k from Adrian Flux. However, the cheapest place that I got quoted for a 7 port 1293 Mk1 with all the mods declaired was actually Adrian Flux and it came to £1100 fully comp. Saying that though, I havent tried Miniworld yet so Ill have to give them a bell before I get it on the road.

Adrian flux wanted in excess of 2k, so im going to see exactly what, 'more than 2k' means, and possibly do a pay monthly scheme..

I really want this car!

Will try a few other places first though

i pay around £400 fully comp with agreed value/breakdown and all the other bits and bobs. thats with adrian flux. have been running a turbo since i was 22 and its always cost around the same. when i turbo'd it from a 1275 cooper they charged me £30. no charge for the flip front either.

performance direct wanted over £800, HIC wanted around £700, miniworld wanted over a grand! and if i remember rightly tesco's wont touch modified cars.

If only my insurance was that easy and cheap!

If they only charge a few quid more for turbo, that'll be good.

Just need to find out how much Adrian Flux can definately do it for.

Saying that, Not sure if Mighty Mini is still selling now?!

just dont say thats its had a metro turbo engine fitted because they try and do you for an engine conversion, just tell em you fitted a turbo to your existing engine.

The only real quorte ive managed to find so far, is from Tesco.....

They say £2409.79 third party, which is all they will cover me for because its an old car.

Im tempted... monthly payments of £200ish....

I asked him what they would have quoted without the turbo, and they said £1983....

So it added a fair chunk....

But that is with all mods... wheels, engine etc...

so if i wait a few years and put a standerd 1275 with a t2 turbo on it with a few other mods (cam, cr/sc gearbox, flipfront, wheels etc)
and put it all in my 998 mayfair, they will raise it loads as the origonal engine is a 998??

so even when im 21 it will be expensive?

cheers
josh

Hi, I cant believe what good quotes you are getting from Miniworld insuarance!

I paid £1070 thrid party when i was 17 on my 1.3i Cooper with Norwich Union and this year I got a fully comp online quote from them for £800! at the age of 18!

So when my insurance comes round for renweal i will be definately giving MiniWorld a ring as ill be 19 by then. I'm hoping to do an advanced driving course before then to get my premiums down even more.

Insurance on 1.3i cooper's does seem to be rather alot.
