Why oh why are people sceptical.....

the reason why is if that IS as 16v then why have a 8v cam cover? Or more importantly why go to the lengths and expense of having one cast when you can wled an oil filler on to the 16v cover easily.

Secondly there is no engine brake in any of those videos, or similar set up meaning that the you cant get a true figure. Also the lap top could be linked to anything.

to be honest with you this has all been outed before on Turbo minis.

Interesting topic - All I will say is that Sprocket has provided all the information you need to make your own minds up on this one.

nice little engine though - just not as it says on the label

soz, i should ave been more specific, i was reffering to the bit in the 'finity topic about the rocker cover, 'engine tuner' has stated why its different. Anyways i got no problems with people having opinions, i just cant understand why suppose...

Find it interesting how people are so skeptical, if a respected engine builder says its a 16v engine (why would he use an 8v head when they are competing against KAD 16v'ers?) then why question him.

If I was paying that much for an engine I would expect a half decent rocker cover on it, dont forget its in a race series as well so Morspeed want they're logo prominently on the engine :)

Decking is when you take (skim) an amount of the top of the block, that combined with a different crank stroke can give you 998 iirc but is expensive to achieve.

I think doing it that way gives you short stroke action though which is good :)

The 999cc is reached by using a 970 crank, and possibly bored +20

I would imagine there are fail safes and cut offs to cut the engine in the event of a problem. That being said I don't think you'd need screens up to protect yourself, you wouldn't put up a protective screen between you and a running engine in a car would you?

Yatta yatta! :) I mean when your working on the engine and its running (and no, I'm not talking about changing the piston rings with the engine running :withstupid:). Say your tinkering with the carb, etc, you don't find it necessary to stick up a protective wall between you and the engine!!
