 Yes, but then I wouldnt have a nice engine in the coupe.

Thats the problem having 2 cars......I like an idea on one....and then want to copy it on the other one. Twice the trouble and twice the cost.

....Never meant to be that way. I dont like to spoil one without spoiling the other!

Simple, give the Coupe to me! :(

I know what you mean though. Some days I wished I'd never bought my Minus, at least then I could have spent a few more weekends in the garage wondering what to do with the Vtec Clubby.

I bet your vtech motors quick then! Nice.

I wouldnt mind doing that conversion but theres no chance it will fit in a midas.
Nearest I got was using the watsons coil conversion kit on my A series subframe.
Nice to know I've junked the hydrogas once and for all.

Minus are a nice mini. Nice and low. Only problem being limited options of up front engines I suppose......unless you go RWD ala Z Car =][/quote]

MSN can be quite cheeky sometimes:

Ranked number 14 in the ugly mob:

...and was produced between 1985 and the mid to late 1990's.

Just a little 'bumper cam' on the KAD powered Midas Gold Convertible. Taking it out for a spin somewhere on the country lanes near Blackpool.

I bought one of those nice little waterproof GoPro Hero 3 Motorsport cameras which you can stick on the car body in all kind of weird places........

I was getting a bit bored so I kindly spoke to Santa (my wife)

She was quite nice this year so its out with the engine and in with one of these...

Ahh looks just like a normal gearbox I hear you say.....(Clue, look closely. Count the (compound) gears on the laygear :(......)

:P

when the 16v head first came out all those years a go there was a chap called Mike Bastiana put one in his mod prod hillclimb marcos,
he only ever run the car at a couple of very short hillclimbs regularaly which benefitted him in the power stakes, this was at the time i was running DON in marque sports and touring class, ,i would end up bumped into the mod prod class, and could never catch him on these short hills , but when he came to harewood or three sisters i could *yellow human water* over him, you see i had bigger boll- ocks than him way back ,lol.
god i was envious of his engine back then, lol

carl

It's been a while since I sold the marcos to guy in Pilling...........................
Yep, I'm the guy who built it and yes it was a little rough but boy did it go. At least it was quick in my head!!! Never really wanted big boll-ocks just some fun.
Too much info re build to tell all just ask.
Gearbox was Tran-X very special straight-cut 5 speed. Compound drop gears 1.28:1. Used 3.44 to 1 FD and special Tran-X LSD.
Never broke.

A couple of pics from a recent engine build on the Coupe. Had a few probs to begin with but now sounds great. Just need to get it on the RR to fine tune.

Hello, yes they are still going. Coupe is my daily driver. Convertible is in garage having new door frames fitted then adding 5 speed dog box. Kind regards, David

Cheers for the compliments,

Funny thing is that these cars are so cheap to run. If I drove a modern car, the depreciation and cost of replacement parts would more than outrun the cost that I have spent on them, plus I love their individuality. Whether everyone agrees that they look great or not, looking at the MSN top 50 ugly cars list, is another issue, but I like them .

Not much rot, and an opportunity to put all these lovely mini bits on them. :X

Kind regards,

David
