Cheers Dan!

I am looking forward to it.

Still pondering over having a titanium rear subframe made up, with matching rear arms at the moment to pull the weight down whilst still being civilised.

I need to get it on the road and start benefitting from all those horses first though, before I rip out the 5 port in the Coupe and fit the 7 port.

I have seen pictures of a JKD powered Midas, but never a KAD powered one.

It sounds great on tickover, albeit the usual chattery with the s/c drops. Just a dog on throttling but I'm not bursting it until I get it jetted.

I have a little oil leak somewhere down below which is annoying me (as usual)....slightly more than I would like.

Kind regards,

David

when the 16v head first came out all those years a go there was a chap called Mike Bastiana put one in his mod prod hillclimb marcos,
he only ever run the car at a couple of very short hillclimbs regularaly which benefitted him in the power stakes, this was at the time i was running DON in marque sports and touring class, ,i would end up bumped into the mod prod class, and could never catch him on these short hills , but when he came to harewood or three sisters i could *yellow human water* over him, you see i had bigger boll- ocks than him way back ,lol.
god i was envious of his engine back then, lol

Hi Carl,

Yes I know that Marcos. Its at Minitechnique just down the road from me in Pilling. It has a different front suspension on it and an alloy cover over the belt drive, as well as a what looks like a cardboard box to cover the bulge.

Looking at your build I bet your not envious now. You build looks very brutal! :D I look forward to hearing what it pulls in the horses stakes. What have you got in the gearbox to hold it together? Howley used to get 220 out of their Metro Turbos but they did a few tricks to the gearbox I understand.

Kind regards,

David

2 great cars with 2 awesome engines, but which one do you prefer, the 7 port or 16v?

....thats something i'm looking forward to finding out!

My guess is they will both have their own strengths and weaknesses...but I know which one I prefer already just by sheer looks factor alone Dan :(.

- Its difficult as I just dont have the dough to develop them both to their limits so its probably unfair to compare.

Kind regards,

David

the secret of survival is loosing weight from the car, less time under max load as its accelerating so much quicker,
i'm sure there will be a law of fizics somewhere to support this,

Cheers for that. It cost a fair penny did that exhaust manifold. In fact it cost more than I paid for the blue coupe (which wasnt a lot).

I saw a picture of your car the other day in one of the old clubs magazines I was recently given.

The heads back off at the moment due to a cracked valve spring. Fortunately nothing damaged as I spotted the noise straight away.

Kind regards,

David
