4. Alloy filter head (without the nasty return ball), roller bearing straight cut idler (to replace my existing idler). Makes life a darn site easier not having to shim the idler every time you do a rebuild..... and a steel flywheel bolt with heat treated washer. No lock tab will be used on this one.

5. A nice shiney new EN40B forged steel crank...... I like the big numbers on the rev counter. :D Nice to have the confidence I can give it some pain. I flicked the crank with my finger and it made a lovely ping.

7. .............And to top it off I had another block bored out to 73.5mm. Stud holes deepened to suit the KAD head bolts, along with the extra 2 stud holes to suit.

I'm looking forward to putting this lot together over the next couple of weeks once I have taken all the appropriate measurements to get the omegas pocketed.

I have dealt with quite a few mini suppliers of parts over quite a number of years and I must say that the quality of service I have had from both KAD and MED has been great. All parts to a extremely high standard, and produced within the timescales set, on time every time. What more can you ask for?

Has Dan still got his engine? I was wondering whether he still has it or not.

It was a great piece of kit he had/has. Bit of an inspiration for me to get mine finished.

I'm looking forward to getting it all together. A bit like creating an engineering sculpture....in the form of an A series engine.

I know there are better/cheaper alternative power plants.....but I have always had a bit of a soft spot for the mini engine....and never
had an issue with it only having 4 gears......although I often ponder on the KAD 5 speed. :D

What about the exotic sequential/6 speed/involute boxes? I think this engine deserves nothing less! :D

I think Dan's engine has now gone! :-

Thats a pity about Dans engine. You never know though he might come back to the dark side one day :D.

Would love a great gearbox to go with it, only problem being I have to finish off the 7 port for the Coupe too. Hopefully this year.

Wish I'd never bought the 7 port though. If all the castings are like mine they are really C**p. Mine came with stitching from new. Not impressed at all. You dont expect to pay good shilling for a new head to see stitches in it to cover up casting flaws.

The sale of the 7 port would give you more than enough surely! :D :- :P
