Went down to SC on Sat morning to have a look over the package and ask some questions. John took me out for a drive.
Deposit paid and picking it up next Sunday!
Plan is to do minor things like paint the cam cover and change the final drive from 4.1 to probably 3.44 then get it fitted over winter
For sale ad of my head etc will be posted soon

Paid an amount that John and myself (and the wife!) were happy with. I made an offer to John before I'd realised it was on the bay and he said if it didn't met reserve I had first refusal.
Must say the guys down at SC were very helpful with my silly questions and even kept the wife happy with tea and biscuits while we talked cars

when i finally get a day off i am defo going to do some work to get the head on mine.
do you reckon i could do the welding stuff and skim with the valves in place?
Personally wouldn't recommend it if the amount of dirt and muck etc just from the welding splatter etc that is on my head is anything to go by nevermind the skimming swarf!

UDO new to this forum, Found this thread when looking for info on the bmw conversion, That is one awsome engine setup you have got there, whish I could have afforded it.
Started to collect bits for my own ordered conversion kit from sc last week.
Miniboo would love to see some pics and any tips for the build as you do yours

I was going to be doing the conversion myself as can be seen from previous posts but this package came along at the right time and price. Its a higher spec engine than I could have afforded nevermind the subframe etc and although I would have enjoyed the whole building my own engine thing this is a quicker way of getting to a similar outcome
