We don't wear pants in the south either :( . I thought you Northerners got sewn in to your grundies for the winter? :P

Gaydon = not sure. It's the weekend of my birthday & I don't know what I'm doing yet. :)

On the 16th August, Matilda will be entered for her first scary show with posh cars. ^_^ It was a birthday pressie from a buddy, and the Universe has provided her with the entry number of 666 ;) , which I received through the post last week.
I think someone's taking the p*ss out of my ickle goth car. ;)

Now the question is, how do I prepare her grubby little engine bay for this embarrassing debacle? Not sure I can be bothered with the steam clean as I'm more than likely to screw summink electrickle......buckets of WD40 & lashings of elbow grease? :)

Ooh, well done Matilda! I'm sure she'll be the star of the show :) especially with the best entry number on the field ;)

Hmm, I'd probably go the elbow grease, but Rupert's electics are a little temperamental to say the least anyway, so I'm always careful.... ;)

Lol & Yes. I got some down the back of the engine that came out of a nackered fuel line and could not believe how clean it got the engine, you can get high in the process... BONUS.

Cillit bang scares me  . It's witchcraft, that stuff. Wouldn't touch it with five pairs of marigolds & twelve barge poles taped together end-to-end. I'll give petrol a go & try not to scare the neighbours too much. ;) If I give myself the willies then I'll just give up. It's not like she'll win a prize at these things, I just want to show her off, really!

Be careful with the petrol though, it gets you light headed so quickly not to mention a big headache as well....

Spent a good four hours cleaning Matilda's innards ready for next week's show.

Started with hoovering, treating vinyl, leather, plastics & windows & she's lookng reet tidy.

Posted Image

Even hoovered the headling. It was full of dust & I had no idea. How does it get up there?

Posted Image

The back is now looking like nobody's ever been in there.

Posted Image

Driver's footwell came up pretty smart too, despite me living just above it for the past 2 years.

Posted Image

Hmmmmmmm, shiny, shiny, shiny seats of leather....

Posted Image

I even did t'doorseals. But found this. :) Might need a bit of attention next year.

Posted Image

Lookin' spanktastic (even if I do say so myself).

Posted Image

It's a shame I have to hide her redness with kakky overmats, though. Might get her a smart new set if she behaves herself.

Posted Image

Engine bay. Before.

Posted Image

After 3 hours of paraffin, toothbrushes, rags, lots of swearing, five conversations with passers-by, three cups of tea & a squirting of GT85. :D

Posted Image

She now has the shiniest horn in the world ( :) ) but engine block really needs painting and I have lost the will to live. Not sure I'm cut out for this show-car malarkey. :) :D :P
