Have a wee look for rust underneath.
Any excess of oil on the sump and driveshaft.
Rust in the boot around the suspension.
Any excess movement around the hubs (but it will need to be on a ramp to check this properly)
And finally, have a quick peak at the brakes. eg pads and discs.

xx

Rust? :) RUST?!!! How very dare you!!! This is my Matilda we're talking about here!!

(she's starting to go a bit on the boot floor, but no biggie.... :closed: )

No drips, no leaks, but I will have another peep & grope. Will checky wheels - I get the feeling the tracking might need sorting too. There's been a gradual increase in vibration through the column.

Ta.

Tracking, balancing or new front discs required perhaps?

Don't beat yourself up about it... I had a Nova for a few years... dare I say it, but one of my best cars... it was the saloon one with 4 doors.... it had a huuuuuuuge boot and could do almost 500 miles on a full tank of fuel.... yes 500 miles...

EDIT... Just seen the boot liner.... wow what a fantastic job... the map pocket is inspirational....

I'm actually quite impressed with "Norman Nova" :D . He's immaculate. Used to belong to a 94 year old lady. He has practically no miles on his clock & looks as if he has just rolled off the production line. :D

Ta. It's good isn't it? Chris is a geeeenius. :(

My Nova only had about 35K on the clock.... sold it (begrudgingly... needed 5 proper seatbelts for a holiday trip) with just under 100k...
And yes the liner is gorgeous..

Oh my word. :(

My little Madam passed her MOT. :P

[Bar one thing, a blown number plate light bulb.......which I hadn't noticed  , but is now sorted].

Jeepers. Methinks her tester is in a good mood, on ketamine, or has lower standards than I do. Or maybe all three. :dontgetit:

Another 12 months of legal roadwheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Wahey, good job!!!

Also, there is nothing wrong with Nova's, just because silly boy racers put gay spoilers and poo on them!!

My other half and I have a Nova with a 2litre in, which is funny when other kids with Nova's pull up for a race.

What has happened to Norman now??

Matilda's in hostible.

Having quite satisfactorily munched her way through her eighth set of wheelbearings, I have taken her elsewhere to get her fixed.

Just spoke with the guys at Dorking Service Centre & it is over 600 quid's worth of bad news.

New knuckle joint.
New radius arm (or suspender arm thingummy, can't remember, am half asleep)
New wheelbearings
Handbrake seized on right side.
Excessive oil loss through worn seals.
And something else I can't remember. :D

"Juliet, we love your mini, she's beautiful, but she's not safe to drive."

Lesson learned. If one set of experts can't find the problem, get a second opinion. :-
