Aww Juju I'm really sorry to hear that, get well soon Matilda. How did W&P miss all that? She's definitely very worth all those pennies, hope they fix her soon
All the best minis need tlc at the moment
Thanks Bec. To be fair, it was nearly 1000 miles ago that's they last took a look at her & we decided together that I should wait for the bearing to get worse before we changed it. They didn't strip her down or anyfink.
WOW what a thread!! good work too, love the mini!!
Fankies!

However 8 wheel bearings something is up somewhere else and this should be looked into properly timken bearings should last at least 25k
but then i am aways seen as the bad person who tells the truth when i first work on peoples minis, however, once they are fixed its nice not seeing them till they are due a service

well we can all mess things up, but its how things are delt with after, me personally would have taken it to wp to give them the option of sorting it foc, the thing is nothing on that list is major major and would not cost 600quid at my workshop.

Whoa Dave, chill oot!!
I ain't moaning about the service I've had a W&P - I haven't paid them a penny for Matilda in a loooong time, and most of the work they do on her is favours-for-favours - you get me?
I took her to the Service Centre because it's 500 metres away from home, their customer service is brilliant & their work is good. I'm just not used to paying for work!!

When Frankie was mot'd they found play in his rear arm - squished grease in there and he is good as new - have your nipples been greased recently
The offer is still there to put bearings in her for you JuJu, I may even be pursuaded to do some other bits and pieces if i can
Careful of that offer there Juju!! Once upon a time he was going to fit my pedals!!

Except i thought the 150 mile round trip for me to come to you was a bit of an ask Jo
JuJu has already said she would come to visit me and make the tea

i agree, but you can't tell if it is wear untill you strip it down - by which point you are committed to a rebuild. I know Matilda is a daily drive so grease for now would be my choice until JuJu has decided how much to spend on her ( I know there is a TD5 and Lotus in the future too)

I've already committed to the place down the road. I need her back a.s.a.p, as you said, she's my daily driver. I already tried cycling the route to work today, and after 3 hours of pedalling, I'm f***ed, so it ain't happening! Thanks for the offer anyway, David.
