Not too much though! Be sure to bead off after you cut or the seams will split open. Keep at it!

Nice inlet manifold that might clear the bulkhead? I've no details yet, could be a one-off

looks to be a toyota/nissan hybrid. could be from the toyota 4efte:

may be a wise choice since its also a 1.3 and has similiar runner size and spacing

i just bought a Toyota 4efte manifold to modify will post pics then i get started

So...........i know i've been absent for quite a while.
I am really proud to see you guys fly the Micra-Mini flag proudly. As i hinted in earlier posts, my brother and i are taking a little break to do some improvements to house and business. All conversions are running so well that there isn't any need for updates
My car has been boosted for almost a year and a half and had absolutely no problems to date, in fact i have finally decided to add an intercooler since i found a cute little one last week:

Its from a daihatsu mira also, and has allowed me to run 10 psi boost alot safer now .

look out for my Honda D15b thread soon as well, i will post a shortcut here.

Hi all .

Not posted for a while but still on Micra project .

I do not want to stir up a hornets nest regarding bulkhead mods but could any of the engineer guys recommending bracing across the car inside suggesst the best place for it ?

Would replacing the main curved lower dash rail for a welded in tube or box section be to far back from the bulkhead or is a brace nearer the front of the car that went across the width of the car and was positioned at a height in the gap between the top of the pedal box and underside of dash section up against the bulkhead be better ?
I am using Micra column switches so loosing the position of the standard Mini ones on the lower dash rails is not a concern .
Just for further info the main engine bay rear bulkhead between subframe tower bolt and scuttle height has previously been proffesionally modified like a Miglia Racer and boxed almost the full width ( like a full width weber air box ) . Inside the car the box is almost flush with the dash top rail at the rails centre . Also in the engine bay the triangled sections welded from inner wing to bukhead crossmember just in front of the subframe tower bolt remain . The bulkhead has been modified as per Big Chief and welded well .

Dave

Hi Big

This is the frame i am doing for a customer very similar to yours! this has been in the car a few times and we have had to move the engine very slightly from our first positioning, this will be back with the customer for the next two weeks, then i hope we can have it back for final finishing. Might even make a few more frames while we are at it if there is enough interest

Any idea on a price!?

Excellent thread guys, read it from start to finish.

I'd be interested!!!!

This looks like a great conversion, but i don't have the skills to be modding a subframe!!

Would be awesome to be able to buy a subframe ready to build up - or even pay someone to fit the engine/box and subframe to my shell!!!

I think he had a big sell-up a few months ago, so not sure if he's still in business.

Perhaps someone should either ask Rob at Allspeed to try a Micra engine in one of his selection of frames or go down and drop an engine off for him to see in which frame it fits best.
I think there is already a build somewhere with an Allspeed frame, I think it's in a Vauxhall frame, but I could be wrong.

Loving the look of this engine conversion!! Could be perfect for me!!
Unfortunately no time, or skills to cut and fab the subframe etc..

Is no one selling subframes ready to accept these engines yet?? Lol!!
Anyone offer their services to convert a mini to 1.3 micra power???

I'm hooked on this conversion now, I'm going to do it over the summer, along with a full body respray with a new front end. Is anyone going to be at Brooklands on Sunday with a Micra engined Mini? I'd love to see one in the metal.
