Here's an idea I had a while back, there's something similar on eBay atm

http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item3a65a2cec0

Listing is nothing to do with me but it is a pretty good idea.

Was playing with manifolds earlier and found that an hif44 would fit onto a Toyota manifold with out to much work.

I've potentially found a "complete" 1.3 engine and 1.0 gearbox with gear linkages and drive shafts from a breakers at a good price. BUT it doesn't have an ECU or wiring, is it even worth considering without? Does anyone know if the wiring for the 1.0 is different to the 1.3, ie could i get a 1.0 loom and use that with a 1.3 ECU?

Thanks

James

Hi guys

With relation to swopping the 1.3 gearbox for the 1litre gearbox on a 1.3 k11 engine, has anyone done it before. The flywheel, cutch ect are completly different, is it ok to put a 1l flywheel clutch assembly onto a 1.3 engine. are there any issues regarding balance of the crank ect

Thanks in advance, we re bring this thing to IMM in 3 weeks could have done without this problem

cheers

joe

Frank on the Micra forum runs 1.3 engines on 1.0 boxes with the small clutch and flywheel. I also think he tinkers with hybrid home modded 1.0 clutches with 1.3 friction plates. He finds the small clutch will take the power from a 1.3 without much trouble.

After looking at the gear ratios of the 1.0 box I've decided to drop the idea. It's going to have to be a 1.3.

Wise choice, any Mini needs as high a ratio as possible, and the 1.3 box is pretty good for that, I can't open that attachment.

Opens fine for me. Good call on the 'box, it'll make the car much more usable I think.

Nice one mate, good to have another one on the go! Are you going to make a tmf thread or continue on your blog? Or both?

I'm going to do a thread here for the conversion part and have the blog covering the entire build - the build doesn't really fit into an area here - it's both a complete build and a conversion! :P

I'm picking up the engine in the morning...
