if it's been raced, then i'd be stripping it.. usually old race engines are pretty knackered as that's the reason they are not in the car anymore


Couldn't agree more, if it's an ex-racer, it's definitely worth stripping/inspecting/rebuilding.

its only done one season so it shouldnt be too bad but ill probally rebuild and reseal anyway.

Okies, cool. to be honest, the engine output is all about the breathing. That's governed by the cam, the size of the valves, the ports in the head etc. So like I said, it could be anything from 60bhp up as a guess. That being said, it could be a stonking 1330 with a really good cylinder head that's capable of something closer to 100 horses with the right camshaft and carb/exhaust choice.
