Yeah curtains rather than blinds but use a pole instead of a rail as I used a rail and they keep coming off the hooks, it's really annoying.

Sounds like the hooks are the wrong size for the rail.... :genius:

Personally I have blinds and curtains in my house, blinds are quick to open and close, let in lots of light, and the curtains are used for night time to help keep the heat in.

Use tab top curtains, much easier than fiddling with hooks! :P

Have curtains and blinds! As SS says, the blinds help you regulate light getting into your room, and curtains can help with heat.

Well arent I a lucky Raz >_<

I came home from work yesterday, went up into my room, expecting to see maybe a few tester colours on the walls of my bedroom BUT as I walked into my room my mum, dad and sister were there, covered in paint, and had painted my room while I was at work :dontgetit: :P

They had been working on it all day, and at that particular time it had only needed one more coat left. I got stuck in too and now, pretty much all of the painting is done ;) :dontgetit: :dontgetit:

Pictures to follow :dontgetit:

Mmm maybe I should've read the rest of the thread before posting, nevermind >_<

As for decorating the windows... I'd go for curtains in the bedroom, I'd go for some dark coloured ones, but I suppose you could go for pale colours as long as they're thick. Reason? Just in case you end up sleeping in till the afternoon one day then the room will still be dark :P We had cream bedroom curtains before and they were awful, kept waking up at a stupid hour (6am!) in the summer!

I wouldn't go for blinds, just a set of curtains and no net curtains either, blinds or nets with a set of normal curtains just cuts out so much light from the room.

Haha Daveuk you will love me :P (pics coming up)

yea, thanks Chris!! I certainly dont want to be woken up at stupid early hours, I need my lie ins!!

Pics. Before I start... I havent really contributed to much of the work to be honest.
I came home from work the other day and my room was like this...
Posted Image
Holes and chips out of the walls are filled in....
Posted Image
Posted Image
Its been plastered and made 'smooth' and then been painted over. The floor was ripped up as was the skirting etc. The walls were washed. This was all done by Dad and mum while I have been at work. As well as this, I have had another power point plug installed..clever daddy. All I had to do was choose the colour and the pretty bits!!

Anyway... I gets home from another hard day at work... To find these little monkeys painting my room :dontgetit:

>_< Im sure they got more over them than the walls :dontgetit: Lolly will kill me for putting this up!!

Have you not seen my mums face!! Ha ha!

Well funny you should say that david...

Here come some more pics!! :dontgetit:

I am taking pics at different times in the day so in every photograph the colour looks different...
Posted Image
This colour is called 'natural Jute'. I wanted to use this for my choc brown colour as I didnt want it too dark on the focus wall. There is the extra coat on it now as in that picture you can still see the blue underneath :P
Posted Image
Posted Image
This mocha/cream kinda colour is called 'Restful'
The paint is still wet here also! What a lovely thing to come home from work too. My room had been done for me :dontgetit:

There is one more colour to come but that is the finishing touches and I dont think thats going to happen for a while, because Ive got other things to sort out like furniture, my big bouncy bed, storage and shelves and curtains etc...

Tomorrows Tasks
Put the skirting around the room, that will neaten it up
Put double bed in
Go shopping for curtains
Get rid of the dust, have a clean up
Fix ceiling lights
Touch up the paint, might add the secret finishing touch with the third colour if I get time
