This is such a bizarre thread.....the first time I was allowed to decorate my own room I too did it in brown and cream...I was just 14 and it was Christmas holiday 1974........revolutionary colours at the time and my parents hated it! Just goes to show that there is nothing new under the sun when it comes to fashion...what goes around!!!

I know, I always have weird threads lol.

I slept in my sisters room again last night, still havent found the spider

I really need some storage that isnt too big but has places for my shoes and like lots of shelves. I dont want it to take up too much room either. Any ideas.

Need to find a clock too! Thats cLock

Ahhh, now I may have an idea for that, in one of my properties that had an odd shaped master bedroom (long but a bit narrow, and a little on the small side when the bed was in), I used the large alcove next to the chimney breast as a built in wardrobe. The wardrobe is only the depth of the chimney breast - about 18" or so - so I used the sides of the wardrobe to build small shelf units in (shoes, hats, odds & sodds, etc.), from the floor to the top of the unit. I used the back wall for mounting metal pegs in two vertical rows, the bottom peg being high enough off the ground so that shirts / jumpers etc, would not be touching the floor. All the clothes are hung on clothes hangers, and hang flat against each other, against the wall - pegs are about 6" long, so can hold a good amount of clothes in such a small, compact space!
Used two sliding mirror doors, that slide into the gap between the side mounted shelves and the MDF front panel sheet that sits flush with the chimney breast. Left a bit space on the top for extra storage. Oh, and I fitted a small light in there too - really helps to see what your doing!

I do have a photo that would help show you what I'm trying to describe, but it was taken (along with others) as evidence against a tenant for damage done to the property - so doesn't really show it at it's best......Could prolly dig something out though, if you would like a pic.

Looking at the pics of your room, you could easily use the space where the current (pile of?) clothes are stored, at the other end of your room - you could get away with as little as 8 to 10" (down jammy!! bad jammy!! ) of depth, so you won't loose space and can still store EVERYTHING!

I think I understand what you mean SS, but a pic would help if you could? dont worry If you cant!

Yea, Where my clothes are (lots of ) I was going to ask my dad to do shelves at the top and somehow have like a rack for my shoes. Or put a place to hang my clothes to the right or left which would leave more space for more shelves!

Hmmm I duno!!

Was thinking about getting a bed tha have drawers under so I can put stuff in there, but I want a nice modern sexy wood one not a divan..

I really want to start painting it haha!!

What about the storage boxes with small wheels for under the bed, that way you can have your wooden bed but also more storage

Sorry about the lack of pics. Been run off my feet for the last couple of days - had a lot of work to get done in a very short time - at very short notice. :)

Will have a pic of the wardrobe thingy later today (finally getting there to take the pics - and sort a few jobs out that I had to put on hold, when I'm there).

Hi Raz,

Thought you might like to see some pics my bedroom which I have just finished.

I got all the furniture from Argos and salvaged the fireplace from someone’s front garden and built the surround.

The floor is sanded and painted conker brown with floor paint from Wickes, the wall paper on the wall behind the bed is from Homebase and light is from Dunelm Mill.
