I love BoConcept stuff!

It really isn't as good as it looks when you get it home. It is made as flat packs and assembled by the importer to varying standards, largely being made from very thinly veneered MDF. It looks great but isn't incredibly high quality stuff.

Hmmmm, My bedroom has paper on the walls (because the damn things were cracked to buggery and had "lumpy", half torn-off strips of wall paper that had been painted over with GLOSS paint - try getting THAT off with a scraper!). The wall paper is a textured red and beige / magnolia "random stripe" sort of effect (sounds worse than it really is), with little gold bits, the carpet is dark-ish red and the ceiling is painted white. Doesn't sound like much, but it doesn't look too bad in reality. In one corner I have my bed - KINGSIZE!! :( and a computer / TV over in the corner by the window. Thats it really, I don't have much in there as I have the rest of the house for my other stuff, so I keep the bedroom nice and clear.......more space for "playtime"..... :) Room has a slightly oriental feel to it........just needs an oriental lass in it to finish it off nicely!....... :) :)

Spare bedroom looks similar, only has a blue wall paper (same type as my bedroom) and a creme carpet (light colour carpets are a BAD idea - very hard to keep clean).

At the moment I'm spending most of my time decorating my other properties, I mainly stick with a neutral light colour, like beige / magnolia / "oatmeal" etc, with a contrasting wall (usually the chimney breast, or other feature) of a slightly darker color - something like a light mushroom coulour. It's a relaxing coulour scheme, and it's the funishings that bring the room to life (pictures / photo / prints with dark frames, large framed mirror (dark gold frame works well), large vase with those tall dead twig-type things in it, etc. I don't add those myself (rent them as unfurnished), so leave that up to the tenants.

Mostly have laminate floors, so a large rug in the centre of the floor / near seating areas etc. works well, to give a "comfy" feel to the place.

One of the best tricks for a bedroom is the clever use of lighting, dimmer switches, recessed lighting, Make a suspended canopy from MDF, drill it with holes and fit it with fairy lights, Halogen spot / down lighters (fitted with a dimmer, can have a VERY nice lighting effect!)
I've seen the private area of buisness premises and private homes (yes, plural) of a local multi-millionair buisnesman, 80% of the "WOW" effect comes from the lighting used........and the rest is furnishings that cost more than I'm worth...... :)

I prefer a more Gothic or victorian style, rather than modern minamilistic style. But "modern" and "old" can be combined with very good results!

Actually the more I think about it, the more I realize I'm quite sick of redecorating..........! :w00t:

Here's a thought, why not use a Google Image search for "interior design bedroom" - brings up a lot of pictures and links, should help give you some idea of what you like and don't like. :ermm:
