Well, guess what?

I've actually been working on Spudnik, not just talking about it!!

I had a bit of a fleabay clearout and bought him a new front panel and a scuttle.

When I offered up the scuttle it was a terrible fit and there was no way I could ever make it look 1/2 decent so I've gotta send that back.

I'm far too tight to spend £100 odd on a genuine one, so it was back to repairing the old one :D

I had already cut out most of the old end, so it was a case of offering up the new bit and making it fit

I used an "intergrip" type clamp from frost to clamp and line it all up, very handy indeed

Once I was happy with it, I welded it up fully.

A quick skim of filler and some fettlling and it should look ok, still got the other side to do.

I wasn't really in the mood for crawling underneath and finishing off the structural welding, so I decided to fit the Mk1 rear light conversion plates.

These need quite a bit of work to get them to fit and to be honest, I'm not really happy with them, however some filler should make it all better!!!

And fully welded

I've started on the other side but didn't take any pics.

I've also skimmed the one side with filler as well, should look ok, but wil take some work.

Ive got the other side of my scuttle to fit aswell, the last one didn't end up the best but as you say a skim of filler, it'll be good.
Good work Mr shifty
We best get cracking on with mine for IMM!

Just brought some MK1 lights and conversion plates! everyone says they're a pain to fit, any tricks with welding them in straight or is it a case of getting them as straight as possible and being crafty with the filler?

The piece you have let in to the qtr panel (behind the rear wheel) is that available as a repair panel?

Cheers
