My family are making me wait! My dad is at this very minute making a workshop in the garage so i can restore one, sorry to hear you had such a rough time. Things seem to be on the up!

I feel better about the poor guy now because at least there was a valid reason for the guy not wanting it rather than being a spoiled bar steward <--Do ya get it :xxx:

Rhys

yea it was a rough time, I think the saying goes... what doesnt kill only makes you stronger

Im on medication for life, but if it helps me not having surgery im all up for it. plus I have found the right meds now.

The mini, is a prime example to anyone who has the time to do it.
Im sure your dad will enjoy creating a masterpiece. :)

good luck with it. enjoy it and watch him, so you learn. (what I try to do)

Ah no, he is building the workshop and I'm building the car! I couldn't let someone else do it for me as i have my own ideas and someones personality comes out in the work they do and i think that i would want to make sure it was mine! :)

hey everyone.

Bit of a update...

I Been working on it all week.
We got it ready for the MOT thursday, but it failed on,
Back brakes, (both didnt work)
and Handbrake one side.

everything else was ok.

so we spent all morning, trying to sort the back brakes out me, and my dad.
didnt look like we was going to fix it... but.

6 hours later, and LOTS! of air gone.
the mini was ready for MOT.

It passed :)
was 400 on the front brakes, 200 on back, and 200 handbrake.

I had my first go in her after I went to get my TAX.
Remember... I have'nt driven... for over 3 years!
and by the time I went to take her for a spin... IT WAS DARK!
anyway...

she... well...
goes ok, steering is nice, and brakes (much better now)
but....

SMELLS OF PETROL! alot!
Im really lost to why and where... but its really bad, I come out feeling (high)
had to have the window open,

she is running rough still. I put my foot down, there is some play and doesnt want to go.
(it was running lean for the MOT, and he said to make it go more)

so looks like need to give it a good Tune.

Really puzzled about the Petrol?
any thoughts?

So I can look over it the weekend!
and It must be ready for Monday, I start my new Job >_<

any tips to what I need to check over the weekend?

we had to put a petrol breather pipe in the boot for the tank.

I have alook in the morning for the carb... is there one on there?
I cant remember. (think the petrol has made some brain cells go away)

It really is strong though.

Ive had a K&N on my old mini, no where like this smell.
so re-check all the pipes I think.

I'd agree. Just run your hand over the top of the fuel tank... there should be a rubber hose connected to the tank. If it's fallen off, you'll get the strong petrol smell in the car.

although if the float is stuck in the bowl it could be the carb over flow
