Hey Ginger,

Love the video. I have to say that I really love the V-tec roar, It does look like it could be a bit of a handful. Keep up the good work and I hope to see it at the Riv Run.

Martin.

cheers guys. Spence I'm not sure on when the engine is going back in. All dependant on when I get it painted. I'll keep you posted. If I'm lucky it'll be end of the week but not sure.

Well I haven't update for a bit but have been spending a lot of time at the car. Too much time as I've forgotten what the girlfriend look like :dontgetit: Starting to get totally fed up with going all the way there everyday to do work. Much easier if it was at home but that's just the way it goes.

I have been finishing off the bulkhead. Welding up any holes I don't need and adding some brackets and such. Got the box welding completed.

Then I made myself a little access point so I can get to the back of the inlet area. Turns out the box is now even stronger as there was a little flex when you pushed on it before. Now it's totally solid.

so it all got some primer on it

and then a slash of colour. So glad to get rid of the old blue nasty paint. :teehee:

Did some work on the back of the engine when it was out. Tidied up the loom, redid the intake as it was leaking a little water, Got the alt bracket secured on and sorted out the heater hoses ready for fitting to the car. Also found out some good news that the new bulkheadbox is not low enough to effect the heater placement so no need to mess up my centre console  about 5mm clearance.

so now that is gonna be left for a few days as I'm in work tomorrow and then we're putting the engine back into the car for the final time  :teehee: :teehee: :sneaky:

Once in it's gonna get trailered to my local mini racing team and they are gonna setup the suspension for me then fingers crossed it'll be on the road.

Any reason why you would want to get to the back of the inlet?

Good work on the bulkhead box and the clearance with the heater, looks sweet now with some paint on it

trust me from doing this its so tight and theres valves and other stuff there not to mention access to the bolts to actually attach the inlet.

cheers guys. Kam it's like matt said. lots of things there that might be good to get at and access as we all know is shocking so forward planning maybe. Your doing more work on yours, you know you now want to do this :P
Last night bought a few things to get it roadworthy. Been looking at this for a while so thought why not

Then I get home from work and find this badboy on the mat. Don't think it'll be a huge problem but will see how strict they are on details when I send stuff through. Watch this space. A good point for people to look at if doing this build so let everyone know.

I thought it might help and give people the heads up when they get to this point. It's just one of those grey areas at the moment isn't it.

Bought some new tyres of the net and a few more things so more work for the postie :) Still not sure what to do with the grille. Might have to buy an old grille and cut all the slats off and fit some mesh for now. It's hard cause the bits stick out the front a bit.

Looking good mate. I just had mine MOT'd last week so its all road legal now. But still got to send/take the log book to the dvla to get the tax sorted out and engine size but not looking fowards to it as i know i will get the same reply as your letter. I may just say i bought the car with the engine in and get a garage to do a report as i think thats the easy option ?

yeah it's a bit of a tricky one but just the way it goes at the moment.

Have just got some new rubber through the post so will get them fitted when she's on the road. Got some other stuff that the postie tried to deliver today but was sleeping off night shift so didn't hear. Should try again tomorrow and I hope it's the speedo.
But as for the car the engine is in, brakes done. Now I need to just get everything connected up and see what happens. A few bits of soldering to do and a new loom plug might be all she needs. Going in for suspension sat so they can work on her monday morning so I get a weekend off  Then she's coming home. maybe on the back of a trailer till I finish a few things off but see what happens on Friday as I'm going there late after a sleep to work on her. Watch this space

Well I worked hard into Friday night. Was there till about 1:30am. Didin't get the car to a running state but got it so the suspension can be sorted. Then Saturday morning got up early and good old Spenner got the trailer and we got the car to Pitstop for setting up.

Posted Image
It was hard work as the trailer was dodgy as hell (sorry spenner but it was) :P and had put some new track rod ends on late the night before and the toe in was mental so we could hardly push the car. So the toe was sorted, I broke out the welder and fixed the trailer and she's out and getting some sunshine before having a weekend off and getting worked on monday. They are gonna have a good look over her too to make sure I've not missed anything. Fingers crossed :)
