But - I don't have a spare petrol filler cap key - and Reggie's tank is quite empty!!


So I WILL get a duplicate of that made!

Anywho...


Reggie embarked on a bit of a road-trip last week!

The 230 ish miles oooooooop to Darlo was pretty smooth! I lost a couple of bits of trim on the motorway because of the winds - so my grille is now quite loose and the clip that holds the chrome trim onto the roof is now at the side of the M5!

No running problems at all on the way up though! He managed to do the trip on 3/4 of a tank and in good time - so I was very impressed


Then we took him out for the day, on Sunday. And it started snowing!

He was running utterly pants, but he made it back in one piece....!


And collected an ickle of the blizzard on the 20 minutes back





However...

On the 250 miles down, today... We had a slight glitch!

Firstly - I lost another bit of chrome trim on the side of the A1. The bodyshop didn't take the chrome arch trim off in one piece, but they just snipped it in half! So the front half was really loose! I had been taking it off to drive, but I put it back on the other day and forgot to take it off!! Bye bye arch trim!


Secondly:



Filled up in Darlo and set off on my way. He was running OK, but started to really stink of fuel!! I glanced over at the fuel gauge and he'd used 3/4 of a tank in 60 miles!

So I pulled over as soon as I could and popped the bonnet.... to find that petrol was spraying all over the engine bay and directly onto the manifold!

The little rubber tubing on the fuel line - from the pump to the carb - had split, so it was just being pumped straight out!! So Reggie dumped a fair amount of fuel all down the A1 and all over the service station car park!


Still - The RAC arrived within about 30 minutes, fixed Reggie up and I was away!!

And then we had no more problems for the rest of the journey home!


Oh - and in Sainsbury's yesterday! We just had to!

nooo brades line are rubish!..some times at least they come off at the most unfortunate times, friend had to retire from a raly because it came off the fuel pump due to the stupid end fasters and there acwardness

And it's not great about the trim flying off everywhere, no! But it's just another thing that I've gotta talk to the bodyshop about!
