Exactly.

The front valance is just disgraceful!

I would ask for a full refund and just forget the bodyshop completely and go somewhere else... But he's worse now than when he went in, so I would lose money! >_<

Guess I'm just gonna have to trust them to put it right, properly, this time?

>_< It's such a shame you've having to go through this C**p to get what you paid for in the first place! Why can't people just do their job properly???

Good luck - I hope they don't let you down again.

Has Reggie taken to the bottle?

Hanging around in truck stops, caught on camera with his mouth wide open (probl'y singing bawdy songs) 'n his brightwork all askew tch tch.

The bodyshop aren't responsible foe the flexing between his panels that caused the cracks, but they did take the job on.

Nope, they're not - I know that.

But as you say... they did say that they would get rid of it. And I would have expected it to last more than 4 days.

I'm not angry at the fact that they've cracked, as they said that they will rectify it, by using a flexible sealer. What I'm annoyed at is the time taken to actually bother to do anything about it and the amount of times that they have come up with excuses - or not bothered to phone me.

I have been there numerous times and I'm told that they will be in touch. Which they never are.

I'm also annoyed about the fact that they seem completely careless! How hard is it to take the whole chrome finishing strip off? It really isn't! Yet they feel the need to snip it in half, just to make life 'easy'?

Grrrrrrrr!

Anyway.

I've just prepared a 13 page printout for them, with details of everything that I am not happy with.

Beany baby, so sorry to hear of all the C**p you're being put through. Best thing I found to do is to seam seal only the very bottom of the join, hardly any panel movement further down and means you can have a nice crisp line nicely painted.

You could always suggest they fix them how rover did originally,... with 2-3 spot welds joining the scuttle lip and wing lip together.....

Good luck bean! >_<

Good luck with getting it sorted,

Have you got something in writing from them along the lines of "make good cracks to paintwork along panel seams" ?

If not try and get them to agree that was what they were paid to do by stating what you expected from the work and asking what they are going to do to make it so. If they continue to fudge about rather than deny they have a responsibility you'll be in a better position.

If you're happy you've got them over a barrel over not doing the work to the required standard give them a deadline to fix it by 'n threaten them with the County Court.

I'm just printing this out and I'm going to head up there.

I want to be able to sort it amicably and without the hassle of small claims/trading standards etc. But it's been 2 months since Reggie came out of the bodyshop now and nothing has been put right.

I don't have anything in writing as such, I don't think. I will have to check what was written on the bill.

The guys up there are pleasant enough, so I don't think that there will be too much of a problem with court action or anything. But Kris and I have spoken about it, if they don't sort something out, sharpish!

We'll see what happens.

I'll take this document up and walk them around the car and point everything out.

Wish me luck, lol >_<

Tradeing standards, get them involved over it. Im sure you can put a complaint in about the work, especailly now its worse than it was before the work. They need reporting!

Always better sorted amicably if you can, but try and arm yourself with some ammunition in case it turns nasty. Present with a copy of your letter and get them to write on it to give a commitment of when they will fix it by - that shouldn't be too provocative but will nicely establish the responsibility over what they need to do and by when :(

Oh Beany-jean. :(
I'm sorry this is taking such a faff to sort out. Poor Reggie really deserves more than this.
Good luck tomorrow, Gal. Try not to lose your rag, but make sure they know you're disappointed & frustrated. Friendly but firm. >_<

Sorted! :genius:

Reggie is booked in for Monday 21st April.

I have it in writing twice and signed!

He's not in sooner, because the main guy is on holiday next week - so we both agreed that the following Monday would be better, so he can keep an eye on the work and on Reggie.

I will also be getting the use of the hire car. However, their insurance policy states that you have to be over 21. (I'm 20!) But they said that they will be ringing up and changing their insurance, so that I can use it! Mainly so I don't have to wait until after May 12th (My 21st).

I've given them the copy of the photos and kept the top copy, signed and declared by the bodyshop, that the work will be carried out to an acceptable standard on that date!

:o

Oh - and I'm also getting the A-Panel rust sorted for free! :)

I have to source the chrome trim and rubber grommets myself, and then the bodyshop will be paying for it.

Oh, and I think I may buy that badge!
