Reggie has been rather farty recently!

And because he's kept outside, I've not been able to work on him to sort it out as it's been pelting down with rain on every available day that I've got!

But today wasn't too bad...


So, I took the exhaust off at the Y-Piece, cleaned up both that and the link pipe, put some paste on both pipes and then slotted it all back together and did up the clasps! Then just put some more paste over the join, just to be on the safe side!






Also, Reggie's been eating my petrol lately!

I've been driving him the 13 miles to and from work and in the last couple of days, I've used about £20 worth of fuel...! We worked out that he's been doing an average of 10-15 mpg!

When I re-hung his exhaust, I turned it on to see if the leaks at the Y-Piece had gone and Reggie spat a load of black ikky-ness all over the floor....




And all over my Fiat




So I checked his spark plugs...















So I've adjusted the jet and made it much less rich! Drove him home from work and the fuel gauge didn't move!

So, a good day's work, I think!

Well, the fuel gauge was going down from half to empty in about 30 miles! But it seemed to work OK from Half to Full

So I figured the gauge was just rubbish!

But then, I was putting 10 quid in each time... And even if the gauge was faulty from empty-half, the fuel level would still rise above half with the amount I was putting in each time, even if Reggie wasn't using it?

If that makes sense?

But it didn't, it went to half every time


Plus all the black ikky-ness out of the back, seems to indicate he was running like rubbish anywho

Reggie seems to be running great now though!

He's really quiet at idle! With just a little burble out of the back

Reggie's exhaust has been leaking again!

So, once again, he went up on stands for me to sort it out!




Take the exhaust off and find its not just at the y-piece this time!

Also, put a new bracket on as the old was pretty ropey!





So, slotted the system back together and re-hung it!





But pillock here put the clamps on upsidedown! But I wasn't going to take it off again!






And i had the camera, so got a bit carried away!

So, the plan was to look him over ready for his MOT in August - then get anything he needed at SMD...


But after checking his certificate, his MOT expires on Saturday!

So he's book in for 2:50 this afternoon!!
