how very true.Yep, nows the time of year when we find out who can drive and who can't.
For a start you shouldn't really use your brakes much at all, all the car control is with the gearing and your right foot. Driving should be as smooth as humanly possible. Normal driving is too dangerous for icy conditions such as we've had, you should be driving as if your tryes are made of eggshells.

I actually really enjoy the ice and snow here, but then I live in the untouched bit of the middle of nowhere, so there are few cars and some cracking country lanes to play in.
There have been few scary bits, but on the whole if you keep your wits about you and make sure you know how the car will handle in the ice then get on with it: it's all experience to those that don't have it, and you never stop learning to drive.
Or am I just one of the lucky few who can drive?

I love the views you get when its really snowy and icy; living in a hilly area makes for lovely views in the winter I think I'm too ols for sledging now though *sniffle*

I've seen the one of the multi-car slippy hill, but that 2nd one was just unbelievable! I'm amazed that people aren't able to get the essential foodstuffs in a city by simply walking down to the store... you know, using your Mk1 legs & feet.
Is there someway of sending a PM to every member on TMF to warn about the dangers of this time of year?
