Well I think its about time I started a project thread else the baby will be finished and ill never get around to it.

Introducing a 1979 ‘1275 GT’. Haven’t decided on a name or her yet (think it’s gonna be a her though) so any suggestions would be very helpful. Did consider Mistique, you know that blue woman from the X-men films but have decided against it now.
Any way enough talking here are some pics of the car

Right on to the nitty gritty. A lot of panels have been replaced including both offside and nearside front wings, front panel, offside and nearside front floor pan, rear heal board, rear valance and outer sills.
The colour is Audi Mauritis Blue Pearl and the roof is BMW black metallic (yes I know the enemy )
2 new subframes painted red
Spax adjustable suspension and Hi-Low's
7x13 inch Starmag alloys with 175x50x13 Yokohoma A430 Tyres, centre caps, chrome nuts and locking wheel nuts
Group 5 arches
New steering rack, quick rack with 2.2 turns lock to lock
Quickshift gear
New wiring loom
Carbon fibre dash 3 with 3 extra Tim gauges voltmeter, clock and oil pressure
Quick release bonnet catches and quick release grill
All new window and door seals
New starter motor friend had a new one lying about in his garage so I got it for free!! Yay :)
Braided hoses all round where applicable

Still to do. The fuel lines needs to be fitted so that I can get the tank back in. Brake lines still need to be fitted and im in the process of refurbing the calipers. There is no interior at all so it a question of start from scratch on that front
Will keep you updated as I go along

Stu

Why havnt they filtered and blocked your car as porn?!?!

Well its been a long time since I posted on this topic. Delilah has been on and off the road for the last 2 years. She attended some shows and missed others. Fed up of the A-Series I'm ditching it in search of reliability and power. Hence the VTEC!!!!

Some pics of her at the moment

Currently stripping her all down and to do this she has been relocated to a new home!!!

Its a bit more naked than this now I've got everything off the engine to lift the shell up over the engine then I can just roll away the subframe and engine!

It's almost a shame to put a vtec in such a clean car. But still, it looks sick mate keep the pics coming :)

More work done today. Lifting the shell up didnt go as well as planned and I almost lost a couple of fingers (dont ask). Finally got it done though.

Next job is to replace the fuel lines now I know I need to go from 6mm fuels lines currently fitted to 8mm but is the 8mm inside diameter or outside diameter?

Good to finally get started eh?

8mm outside diameter is fine, I got my copper pipes from b&q, I used this for my b16 and now on the b20, no issues, if you find some MPi fuel lines behind the sofa then you can use them

Just make sure your fuel pump is a good un, you can use a MPi one or grab the one from the donor car or get an uprated one, I got a walbro 255 intank which is a straight replacement for the MPi one, peace of mind when your revving at 8250rpm...

Which engine are you going for? I don't think you've mentioned it yet?

Yeah eventually lol

I've got an MPI tank ready to go in and was just gonna stick with the standard pump in that but you have got me worried now. Think I'll have a look at the Walbro 255 if its a straight swap?

Engine wise this is sat in the garage at the mo

B18c4
B16 Top End
B18 Type R Cams
K20 Injectors
Skunk 2 Inlet
ARP Bolts and new bottom end shells
Toda Racing Flywheel

Only thing I'm not sure about is the gear box. I'm told it is a LSD from an Intregra but I dont know if this is true or not? Is there an easy way to find out without splitting the box?

If your pump has 5 numbers followed by 7 then its a SPi, if its got 8 numbers followed by 5 then its MPi

Mpi pump is fine for a standard b16, with your engine I'd use a walbro 255 to keep it all intank and that all important piece of mind, I got mine from here, its for a supra TT bottom of page but any jap turbo car will be the same and a straight replacement for the mini injection one

That engine looks sweet, will be fun in that watsons frame

As the gearbox is off, look through the diff, if you can see all the way through then you got lsd, if you got a bar in the way then no lsd

Heh Kam

Yeah the tank is definately an MPI one but I'm going to err on the side of caution now and replace the pump like you said.

I dont have the frame yet but I going for an Allspeed one as I want to keep the mini track, suspension etc!!! Dodger off 16 valve minis is gonna sell me his I hope! If not I will just have to buy one.

Unfortunately the gearbox is not off was wondering if there is any way to fnd out without taking the gearbox off but I dont think there is?

I'm not trying to get you paranoid about the pump its just your gonna be revving to about 8600rpm with that engine thats all

Its a shame Dodgers is selling his one, his is the main reason I went standard nose........

When you say the gearbox is not off do you mean its still in the donor car? you need to pop out both driveshafts, probably pull the hubs off aswell or turn them out max like on a mini, if its in a breakers or something then its a gamble
