Not Just old stuff no.. main bands at the minute are Sabbath, Megadeth, The Hives (lol) and The Offspring (old and newish). I've got a couple of hundred albums so never get bored of it really. Sometimes though I do just want to stick on Radio 1 and listen to some new wave indie stuff (dare I admit it) I also like Oasis, Blur etc. old brit pop

Oh man how did I miss this thread?

Greeeeebbbbo is well old. I am 22 and I've been getting greebo shouted at me since I was 12. And before that it was "Filthy Grunger".

Personally I don't think you can:

A. *yellow human water* on other people's music choices

B. Label (some) people

There will always be kids who just want to fit in. The kids who don't fit into the cool gang all just used to be social outcasts being lonely, but these days they can all be cool in a different way and hang around together. Generally people call these social outcasts emos. They don't actually cut themselves or wear ALL black, they just want to fit in. You see loads of them everywhere in cities and big towns.

I'm quite proud of the fact you can't label me, a bit like Grimmy feels I think.

I wear skinny jeans and normal Levis, jumpers, shirts, skinny tees, and suits.

I listen to a lot of music. My roots are in Punk Rock, I picked up a Bad Religion abum when I was about 11 and fell in love. But I listen to such a variety. I saw Lethal B wearing skinny jeans and a I Love NY tee, I saw Bad Religion wearing baggy shorts and flip flops, I went cruising listening to Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd, I spent a night in Fabric in the D&B room watching Goldie and had one of the best nights of my life! I've seen DJ Yoda and 2 Many DJs about 6 times and then gone home and listened to Fugazi and Modest Mouse.

I don't see the point of labeling people or choosing who you hang around with based on music choices, being closed minded only affects your own life!

Hehe. That's what I'm like. A girl who came to one of my parties couldn't take how the genres kept changing. She came over and told me she was leaving as the random choices of music were too upsetting for her.

haha I couldn't stop laughing
That's just unreal, who listen's to the music at a party?

My ipod sounds the same as miniman-pie's then; heavy, very heavy, even heavier, Kate Nash, and then some ska, dance, techno, screamo, trance.
Not much indie though

How come you don't like Green Day, Pie?

I heard 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and Kerplunk and was hooked on them. I even like Warning! And that's saying something. Warning and American Idiot are so far from Kerplunk but I think they've evolved well. All bands need to evolve in some way.

There's such a thing as grindcore? I never understood adding "post" to a genre just makes it the same but a bit more progressive? That's why genres and labels make things confusing

Just never got into them, i was always into Blink rather than Greenday.

Grimmy, youve just reminded me, im heavily into a band that are hardcore. Called "Comeback Kid". Dont really understand the "post-grindcore" genre, but if you like screamo/shouty music, check out Comeback Kid. they are fapping amazing.
