Names?! That's not harm! :teehee:

My friend cut "RATBOY" in her arm... and then into mine... with a compass  in an art lesson once because we were bored :w00t:

We weren't emos... well emos didn't exist, she was a bit of a greeb but I wasn't, except for the uber-baggy jeans ;)

This topic has gone waaaaaay off course :dontgetit:

Stop talking about bands, you'll never all agree ;) And no stereotyping, ladies & gents!

Iron Maiden's style isn't death or blood or anything like slipknot actually. They play decent Heavy Metal and sing about allsorts... the last album is about warfare & military... Iron Maiden invented modern British Heavy Metal but unfortunately the 'newer' crappy bands like avenged sevenfold, fall out boy, my chemical romance style themselves on Maiden and that 'culture' to try make it look they're as good as them, when they aren't.

If you take the time to listen to some Maiden (anything from the first album - released in 1980  - to the latest one released last year) and compare it to the other tripe that infests the 'metal' scene you'll soon see what I mean.

Avenged Sevenfold, crappy??
Nu uh, their album's are great, they're great live too!
I can see your point about FOB and MCR because they are unless it's just the odd passing song.

No doubt you've seen Iron Maiden on their last tour in '06. I'm sorry to say I was very disappointed with it, they played only two of their old tracks and that was in the encore! I was so hoping to here all of my favourites live (e.g. The Trooper and Rainmaker), but they played the new album cover to cover which just isn't anywhere near as good. Don't get me wrong they were great and it was money well spent but the support Trivium were a lot better in terms of choosing the right songs for the night.

As for 'Greebo's', i've never heard of it until now, is just a deep sarff thing?
I hate generalising groups, why can't anyone just be 'normal' anymore.

I don't know about it being regional, but we all used it at school and we were Heart of England darling

We called chavs "kevs" too, before chav became a national term, we'd never heard of it. Kev was apparently another regional thing :dontgetit:

Yup you read right, they are crappy ;)
to be honest I was disappointed with the choice to play the whole new album all the way through... quite a strange choice I may add. They played 5 of their older tracks actually and they were the last 5 of the show. I have them on youtube :!:

There's a hell of a lot of their songs I'd like to see them play live but I don't think they'll do again... like Wasted Years :w00t:

On the other hand I saw them headline Download Festival 2007 (A Matter Of The Beast Tour) and they were absolutely amazing. They played for near-on 2 hours, and all the old classics were there as well as several new songs. I really can't wait to see them live this year... the tour is going over the "golden years" as they call them - albums like Powerslave  Aces High is one amazing song.

But yeah I can't wait to see the Somewhere Back In Time tour :dontgetit: :teehee: ;)

I don't think Greebo is a southern term, I'm from "up north" and heard it when I was in school 5-6 years ago..

We also called chavs "Charvers" I think that term originated up in the north east :/

I'm a North Eastern lad, and I remember when we used to say that! Either that or 'townies'

P.S: Avenged Sevenfold are the best!

I listen to a couple of bands like Children of Bodom occasionally but I generally don't like bands where the "singer" actually screams and you can't tell a riff from a solo because there's that much noise crowded into it.

Black Sabbath are still amazing, at least you can tell what they're singing and at the same time the guitar is amazing.

i'm also not for labelling people into groups, i know many friends that could be chavs or greebos (though i have never heard them called that before)

The only thing i dislike are people acting/dressing/listening to certain music just to fit into the latest trends so other people to like them.
