hey your mini looks awesome and has inspired me a bit to how i went mine to look when i start earning more. Just wondered what alterations you need to make to fit a mark 1 grill? Always have prefered the look of these to later ones. Thanks

You will need to remove the bonnet and the chrome lip that goes along the front. You will then need to drill out the spot welds along the underside of the bonnet, where the lip meets the bonnet edge. You should be able to just drill these out and the lip will come off, no bending or cutting required. I had to drill two holes to fit the grille and then another hole to fit the moustache.

Thank you, being a daily driver sure does take its toll on the condition of it. Still extremely reliable though, only the water pump needed to be replaced in the year I have owned it.

It's been a while, been pretty busy but sadly not on the Mini.

Bought a few bits at L2B, a pair of a panels, a decat pipe and a pair of front wheel bearings.

As you may have read in another thread, it's been having starting problems recently. A new fuel pump, a new fuel filter, a new relay and £320 later and it was back on the road for L2B. Sadly the garage didn't really treat the car that well, the fog light was smashed, the front bumper was dented, the seats and the steering wheel were dirty. The problem is that I cannot prove that the actual damage was done by them, when we first loaded the car off the flatbed the spotlight had fallen out. For all I know the fog light and bumper could have been damaged on the flatbed.

The real problem though was when they pressure tested the fuel system they appear to have damaged the rubber seal on the fuel rail, meaning that fuel was leaking out and the car absolutely stank. At least L2B was really good weather so we kept all the windows open which helped a bit.

By Monday I was probably getting around 10mpg. I used some water pipe sealant tape on the rubber and that appears to have stopped it leaking.

Other then that, it's been reliable as always.

Thanks for the photos, wasn't sure if anyone on here spotted it down there.

Still need to fit my decat pipe, wire up the cigarette lighter properly and find out why the fuse for my indicators keeps blowing.

fit my decat pipe

Done, after a lot of swearing and WD40 for the rusty bolts on the cat.

wire up the cigarette lighter properly

Really must get round to doing this sometime, car electrics has always been the one area I try to avoid. I'm getting better these days though.

find out why the fuse for my indicators keeps blowing.

Done, the wires for the reverse light switch were exposed.

Also need to fit two new front wheel bearings, stop the nearside brake binding and get the new A panels fitted and sprayed.

Pretty much.

I know I put a fair bit of effort into it, my friend said the same thing last night, but I just can't be bothered with the effort anymore.

I might get another Mini but it won't be for quite some time, it will be either a project or a weekend toy.
