If I remember correctly about 15-20 years ago there was a kit you could buy to convert an a series 1275 to diesel. this was meant for the marina van/ maestro van era, anyone else remember them, they could obvously be blown.

ooooooooo that sounds good. a diesel a-series as long as i could make it a turbo diesel.

im sorry for liking forced induction so much. but with any mini engine the best thing i think anyone can do with it to get the bhp needed is craming as much air in as possable. turbo or supercharger. and as for a silly dump valve thing, it that makes your mates mouths drop. :) and i could even cooking oil the thing! (if i really wanted to)

how much power, bhp or torque can you get out of one of them and have you got forced induction as well?

oh and how easy was converting the back end for the thing?
and do the think it is possable to put on in the front? (what the engine bay surpost to be for?)

also i take it you mean vauxhall 2l lump? hehe never head of vanxhall before.

turbo's all the way...

the engine he means is the red top. it comes from a few things including the calibra.
it is a 2.0 16v engine with 150 bhp standard. good engines. heads were developed by cosworth. bore 86mm, stroke 86mm inlet vale dia 29mm exhaust 32mm i belive.... (doing this engine for my main project at uni.)
they fit in the front but a extended front end is needed by 2 inches if my memory serves me correct or a clubman front end can be used.
the exhaust manifolds has to me modified and the inlet i believe although i have only seen one conversion in the flesh.
also vauxhall do the c20let which is the turbo version. also from the calibra but is 4 wheel drive. an adaption plate has been made by chris mossley? for the c20xe box to fit against the let engine. with space issues the turbo version would have to be put in the back unless you were a genius.

ya i thought he ment a red top as soon as it was a 2l 16v as i seen a few in some novas. and they as fast as **** and left my mini like... 40years in the past! hehe with a 998

but anyways. one of my abitions in life would probably be to out run any cops in a mini for deffinate! so much so they do not even see my reg plate. now how cool would that be in a mini?
they have done me once for drifting in my fiesta. and if i get court again they said they would crush it. would that include my mini? then again i dont want to find out. my mini is NOT going to DIE! and if it does i want to be in it!
sorry but it is what i love and i can't think of a better way i like to die. i just say when it happens the faster the better! just hopefully not too soon.

why the cops have started using mk7 fiesta's is beyond me. (even tho they may be zetec beasts, who knows)

no. just i would like it my mini to be capable of doing that. doesnot meen that i am. i did say "would probably" some abitions im life are probably never really are achieved. you have got to set some that would be good (or bad) to do. but it doesnt mean that you are going to do them. my bebo has the rest of them. www.bebo.co.uk/holygit

making meself sound like a right spoon now. damn!

i wish it was a RWD but nope it is a FWD and it is a bag o shizzle! i have crashed it into a curb sideways the other week and need to fix it tomorrow. and that cost me £51 for a replacment axle. £51 i could have spent on the mini so really i am learning.
but at least i didn't damage my mini.

i must admint the fasiation of showing off to my mates is very quicky wearing off. (im sure you lot are or was the same at some point.) i just have the cahornies to admit im a nob.

anyways.. i have started showing what i can do with making sick cars rather than showing people what the thing is capable of doing.

and if someone even touches the bonnet i will got mentle!. as for someone crashing in it. i will cry non stop for all the days i have owned it. due to the amount of work i am doing on it. as im pretty much doing all the work in my mini myself.

anyways........i think it is about time i put some pics on here
