Hi

Just a quickie...

How fast is your mini's max speed? I did 100mph indicated recently and the rpm was smack at 5200rpm. I know the rpm is far more accurate than the minis' speedo...

Using guesswork's little program, with all the parameters entered i.e. 165/60/12 tyres and 3.105 final drive, I get 96mph at 5000rpm and 104mph at 5500rpm. So i guess mine is pretty much a genuine 100mph mini :)

Cheers

Syed

70mph like the law states, unless your on private land. i did get 106 out of my lil 998 on 12's when it was running, and that was on the autobahn, which was then unrestricted, parts of it are not anymore, and by 2010 it will all be restricted. :)

on a private test track 130mph (i bottled out taking it any further) and on the rolling road over 140mph it's running a 2.7 final drive which gives 22mph per 1000 RPM

Quoted as 85 in the sale literature.
Gone a tick over the max reading (90) the other day on a nice stretch of long, empty road (don't get that much!).

Seen 95 clockspeed ages ago when it was running OK, now it does about 74 :ermm:

Once I get my motorbike though, bring on 165 :) !

some guy on a lotus forum (i think) has already been booked ages ago for boasting about how fast his car went and well why i'm not sure if it only relates to images i'm just throwing it in the air as something to consider before you post thats all.

Yup, you're right. They tracked him through a forum, but it was after he'd posted a video of himself driving his Exige at 150mph or something stupid.

As for tracking people down etc. yup, that's possible too. The site software keeps track of IP addresses and it's possible (I think) to track down the person through their IP address. Then again, it'd be even easier on this site as most people (myself included) post up piccies of their cars with number plates showing. Some minis are also that unique that they'd be impossible NOT to track down! :)

Anyway, in my old 998 cabby, indicated 105, roof flapping about, scarey as hell!

There are loads of posts about this on here, there is a search function that you could use to find a similar topic and have a look at what other people have posted. :ermm:

Do they measure top speed on a power-run on a rolling road? :ermm:

If so, I'll tell you next week! :)

The rolling road I went to had 2 big clocks on the wall, one measuring BHP and torque, and the other one doing mph and km/h
